Made this mistake last year. Would not recommend.
 
Also on the flip side of this, you can access the old application if you need to copy from it, useful for reapplicants.
 
For those that are reapplicants, you'll notice your 2017 app may have been preloaded - at least mine has!

Hours have been saved.

The 2017 AMCAS doesn't expire, right? We can get a copy of the 2017 AMCAS instantly when we rep-apply in future cycles?
 
You can access old AMCAS application by editing the hyperlink at the log in screen of the current application to reflect the matriculation year of the app you want to pull

You won't be able to edit any info but you can still print
