are you planning on filling out this section of the yale 2ndary app? I cant decide what to say, if anything.,.,. thx

Additional Page (Optional)
This section should be used to bring to the attention of the Admisions
Committee any information not previously discussed throughout your Yale
Supplemental Application.

no. it's not necessary.

On most applications, it's usually good to use a question like this to explain what you like about that particular school specifically, and why it would be a good fit. However, if the application is the same as when I applied last cycle, Yale already asks you that question separately, so if you don't have anything else to say, don't worry about it. Just remember to talk about how you think the Yale System is right for you when you're answering the "why Yale" question.

In my case, since I'm a non-green card applicant and English's not my first language, I used that page to talk about my English proficiency and my source of financial support.

If you have some sort of 'intangible' (i.e. experience that isn't X hours/week) you can write about that. If you've had an interesting childhood, a special influence, a handicap . . . really anything, but I wouldn't suggest writing something just to fill space. Make sure it has contributed to your character and helps them better understand you.

i found lots of other secondaries required more in depth essays, maybe about our influences or a partic ex- cirric not detailed on the amcas and used that space to write more about me.

I wouldnt pass up the opp to give the adcoms more info about you.

Good luck!

Ditto.

Yes, answer the question! I didn't apply to Yale, but I always answered the "optional" question. You need to think of something that makes you stand out. If you have already answered "why school X," then talk about something else that you didn't cover in AMCAS or elsewhere in the app.
