Hi All
Was wondering if anyone had firsthand advice on whether to schedule a separate interview for medicine preliminary year at Yale. Applicants applying to certain advanced programs at Yale have been told that they do not necessarily have to interview for preliminary medicine spots and that their interview for their advanced specialty will count for medicine interview.
From Int Medicine website: "We do coordinate presentations and group interviews with the Anesthesiology and Neurology Departments at Yale on the day of an applicants interview with these Departments. Students who participate in these presentations and group interviews are not required to participate in a separate Department of Internal Medicine Interview day. We do require students participating in these group presentations and interviews to submit an ERAS application to both our preliminary programs."
Any thoughts or firsthand experience on whether attending the interview itself is of any additional benefit?
From communication it seems as if the program does not particularly encourage separate preliminary interviews.
Thanks for input!
