What gets you going when you're off to interview(or at this point checking the mail)?

I was just wondering, because I've been listening to two songs almost nonstop:
"Lose yourself in the music..." Eminem and "Shining Star" by Earth, Wind and Fire.
Weird dichotomy, but hey, whatever gets you through the process you know?

Hmmmm, good call. To be honest, i didn't really listen to anything when going to an interview (unfortunately, i'm one of the few who don't have an iPod so i wasn't able to rock out 24/7). However, if given the choice, i'd most likely rock out to some Rush (probably Tom Sawyer) or Peter Frampton (Do you feel like we do?)

Note to self....buy iPod before medical school

U2's Bad.

"This desparation
Separation
Condemnation
Revelation
In temptation
Isolation
Desolation
Isolation
Let it go."

By the way, anyone else having problems with edits and bumps?

i'm embarassed to say this but ... kelly clarkson? 😳

Europe - "The Final Countdown"

For MCAT prep and 1 of my interviews I couldn't do better to lift my spirits than play The Victors (and many other songs) from the University of Michigan Marching Band CD! 👍

Dude.. you've got a Neil Young avator. Why aren't you representing?

Jay-Z and Eminem "Renegade"

Anything Old Madonna

Sometimes Big Band music while I'm doing my hair.

Backstreet Boys - I Want It That Way

i havent listened to this song before any interviews, but when i started the application process my family joked that this would be my med school admissions theme song cuz i'm on the borderline:

Something in your eyes is makin' such a fool of me
When you hold me in your arms you love me till I just can't see
But then you let me down, when I look around, baby you just can't be found
Stop driving me away, I just wanna stay,
There's something I just got to say

Just try to understand, I've given all I can,
'Cause you got the best of me

Keep on pushing me baby
Don't you know you drive me crazy
You just keep on pushing my love over the borderline

You cause me so much pain, I think I'm going insane
What does it take to make you see?
You just keep on pushing my love over the borderline

My interview theme songs have been Eye of The Tiger and No Easy Way Out from the Rocky IV soundtrack...... Definetly recommended !!!

yeah but Neil Young songs don't really give me a rush(except maybe rockin in the free world)...i listen to his stuff usually when i'm just bumming around

Hmm, I don't have an ipod, nor an interview theme song. But one of my favorites is "Winter in July," by Sarah Brightman. I also like her re-make of "Snow on the Sahara."

***************

Look around, wonder why
we can live a life that's never satisfied
Lonely hearts, troubled minds
looking for a way that we can never find
Many roads are ahead of us
with choices to be made
But life's just one of the
games we play
There is no special way
Make the best of what's given you
everything will come in time
why deny yourself
don't just let life pass you by
like winter in July

Future dreams can never last
when you find yourself still living in the past
Keep moving on to higher ground
looking for the way you thought could not be found
We may not know the reason why
we're born into this world
where a man only lives to die
his story left untold
Make the best of what's given you
everything will come in time
why deny yourself
don't just let life pass you by
like winter in July

**********

Only tell me that you still want me here
When you wander off out there
To those hills of dust and hard winds that blow
In the dry white ocean alone

Lost out in the desert
You are lost out in the desert

But to stand with you in a ring of fire
I'll forget the days gone by
I'll protect your body and guard your soul
From mirages in your sight

Lost out in the desert
You are lost out in the desert

If your hopes scatter like the dust across your track
I'll be the moon that shines on your path
The sun may blind our eyes, I'll pray the skies above
For snow to fall on the Sahara

If that's the only place where you can leave your doubts
I'll hold you up and be your way out
And if we burn away, I'll pray the skies above
For snow to fall on the Sahara

Just a wish and I will cover your shoulders
With veils of silk and gold
When the shadows come and darken your heart
Leaving you regrets so cold

yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..

A club mix of "since you've been gone" and madonna's "hung up" have been my two pump up songs for exams thus far this semester. 👍

We're Not Going To Take It !!!!

Twisted Sister

Skee Lo -- "I Wish"

my personal fave --> nas - i know i can:

i know i can
be what i wanna be
if i work hard at it,
i'll be what i wanna be

boys and girls listen up, you can be anything in the world
in god we trust, an architect, doctor, maybe an actress
but nothin' comes easy it takes much practice

how appropriate...

"I Wish" is a good song.

Before anything major I listen to R. Kelly's "World's Greatest." Lyrics below:

I am a mountain
I am a tall tree
Ohhh, I am a swift wind
Sweepin' the country
I am a river
Down in the valley
Ohhh, I am a vision
And I can see clearly
If anybody asks u who I am
Just stand up tall, look 'em in the face and say . . .

[Chorus]
I'm that star up in the sky
I'm that mountain peak up high
Hey, I made it
I'm the worlds greatest
And I'm that little bit of hope
When my back's against the ropes
I can feel it
I'm the worlds greatest

another goodie (i tried to edit my earlier post, but not cooperating):

we're gonna make it (damien marley)

don't you ever give up, don't you ever give in
don't you ever give up, don't you ever give in
don't you ever give up, don't you ever give in
cause i...

i know, we're gonna make it
it's not too late, we're gonna make it, yeah
yes, i know, we're gonna make it
it's not too late, we're gonna make it

Oh, it definitely has to be The Greatest American Hero theme song by Joey Scarbury. I have it on repeat. When I'm not listening to that, then The Final Countdown by Europe.

Man I rule..

Phish- Down with Disease

That has been my song for this year.

"Waiting for the time when I can finally say that this has all been wonderful, but now I'm on my way."

(possibly double posting, but it didn't go through the first time)

i listened to ben folds' album "songs for silverman" on the way to each of my interviews. good chill music to relax on the road on the way to an interview.
