Hi all,
I'm new here... sort of... been visiting SDN and soaking up the wisdom for a year but never registered or posted.

Anywho...

I had a question about proper etiquette when requesting a LOR from a professor? Is it considered at all inappropriate to suggest SPECFIC things for that person to write when initially making your request? (?beyond the obvious of requesting a "favorable" recommendation)

For example, if I had the highest grade in the class or chose a particularly difficult project or something can I directly ASK for him to explicitly state that in the LOR or is that considered improper, something I should simply remind or hint at?
