Okay well I've received another application denied (MMC)... that makes 3 schools now! I'm sick of wasting my money and time on these applications when they don't even take the time to look at it. All of my materials are in, I'm sure of it.

Maybe its because I'm Canadian. Anyone else have this problem? Is the CDA screwing us all over? Is MMC full now?

I am getting good vibes from the schools still - interviewed at howard on feb 4 and have a NYU interview this friday which i most likely will not attend as howard should respond tomorrow

no rejections so far

What do you mean, has the CDA screwed us over? I didn't have any problems with them - and I've never felt like I was at a disadvantage (with regards to private schools) because I'm Canadian.

Keep trying. I was rejected by 9 schools last year, but accepted by 2 this cycle. It depends on how badly you want it whether you think it's worth the time and money.

Hmm... what I mean is that I have not received ANY rejections yet. Only "Application Denied."

The CDA said they sent out the November 2007 DAT scores to the states on the third week of December, yet most of the schools I applied to said they did not receive it until late January. Maybe its just happened to me...

"Application denied" means rejection. what else would it mean? that means the admissions committee has reviewed your application and felt it wasn't a right fit for their school. i think AADSAS was a waste of money but as for schools...they have looked at your app at some point in time.

xtractime is right, 'Application Denied' is a rejection. Besides, unless your stats are stellar, completing your applications in December is quite late and reduces your chances drastically.

Actually, it doesn't. I called two out of three schools and they specifically told me my application was denied because the school was full (fair reason, I suppose) or they were no longer interviewing for reasons they couldn't discuss on the phone (I guess, fair reason again). Therefore, "Application denied" means application denied, they don't care if the applicant has a 3.9 and 24/24/24.

I realize completing applications in December is late, but even so November CDATs are too late for the American Application cycle.

 Its still considered as a rejection for the class of 2012

Hmm well i realy dont know wat to do with myself n e more. I know most people would say its over and done with but heres the thing, i dont got no rejections as of yet or any interview invites. So what should i do?

I faxed NYU my scores 2 weeks ago and they said give us a couple of weeks and we will let you know. Ive already started lookin at reapplyin and have re-done most of my application on paper(printed last yr).
Being a canadian, would u suggest i do the US DAT? Also would it be better to go in fo another yr as an unclassified and do some courses like anat and physio.

Dude!...You've got to be freaking kidding me! You were rejected you sucker! Don't run from your fears or be a baby about it...YOU WERE REJECTED. Why do you think the school was "full" and you were left out? Because YOU weren't as competitive as the other applicants resulting in them filling the seats through...ACCEPTED and you not filling a seat through...REJECTED!!! Face the facts, you were out-competed. No matter what you call "you not getting accepted to a dental school", both will result in...well...YOU NOT GETTING ACCEPTED TO A DENTAL SCHOOL!(i.e. You were rejected). I thought you were joking at first but apparently you REALLY WERE trying to use a semantic technically in attempt to preserve your dignity, HA! You're obviously in denial:meanie:

The Cdn DATs are also offered in February - before the application cycle starts.

Easy there. Rejections are tough enough to deal with. Don't add to the misery unnecessarily.

uhhh, ok. i guess in the event you are not accepted this cycle, you will tell your friends and family that:

-"i was not accepted for the 2012 cycle".
-then your friends will ask you, "so you were rejected to all the schools you applied to?"
-and you will respond, "no i just was denied, not accepted."

FYI, AADSAS updates as "application denied" for the schools that i was rejected to. they don't put "application rejected". the longer you are in denial about being rejected, the longer you will put off preparing for the 2013 cycle. an applicantion denied means you will not be accepted byt hose schools anytime before dec 1, 2008.

Don't worry about it! 99.? percent of all applicant's WILL EXPERIENCE REJECTIONS. I was rejected from all schools the first time I applied and several schools this cycle as well. (i.e. You're preaching to the choir) Being in denial is worse off then the contrary...frrrrt🙄
