Last year, I had only 10 days to study for the MCAT, so I spent 16 hours/day studying for it. My score was 499 but I was able to get an interview at my state school. However, I did not get the acceptance as predicted. Now I will be spending this summer to study for it again (with Kaplan), but this time with a lot of time on my hand. I want to ask for your advice/experience on the take of this. How long should I spend studying for the test?

I will be graduating in a week with two degrees: Major in Physiology with Biochemistry Minor and Major in Microbiology with Nutritional Sciences. My science background isn't lacking, so I am not sure if 3 months of studying for MCAT is enough or just too much. I will be taking an in-person class with Kaplan. Please share your experience or suggestion with me. Thanks!

Check out the MCAT forum on here. There's countless great resources you can use.

3 months is plenty. Many people just do a couple hundred hours of prep across ~8-10 weeks.

For me, I think 6 weeks was a good amount of dedicated/focused time. I had been doing the question of the day emails for quite a few months, and I was in applicable classes. I think there is only so much content review you can do, and I found AAMC questions and practice exams a better use of my time--as long as you spend the time to do them and review them seriously.
