When I was preparing to apply for this last cycle I referenced a chart, similar to the following, which was issued by my school. I was able to determine, based on my science GPA, what DAT score I should shoot for. I used predents.com to come up with this chart and hopefully it can help those who will be applying this year. It can be used to estimate your chances of admission to dental school.

This data does not reflect all aspects of an application (applying early, choice of appropriate schools, extracurricular activities, LORs, ethnicity, nationality, etc.) and should only be used as an estimate of applicant’s chances.

I couldn't open the file, but wouldn't predents scores be inflated? The official ADEA stats would be more realistic I would think.

Hm...I don't know why you couldn't open the file...

True, predents is not a very accurate resource, but it can give people an estimate at what is going on. The ADEA doesn't break stats down enough for this kind of chart. It's a science GPA vs. DAT AA. I don't intend it to be the most accurate resource - just something that could possibly be helpful.

very interesting chart..

That is really cool, but what are the percentages on the bottom of that chart for?
so is that basically saying that if you have an A and do well on the DAT (like... say 21 or higher) that looks like you should be able to get in! if all goes well.....
hmmm...
that chart looks too good to be true.

The percentage at the bottom of the chart is the percentage of the reported applicants with the given GPA who were accepted.

Scores tend to fetch the interview and give the applicant an upper-hand, but I know for a fact that I was accepted over someone with significantly higher scores than mine. We interviewed the same day, came from the same undergrad, etc. etc.

Exactly. It's the objective criteria that will get you looked at and the subjective criteria that will get you an acceptance.

Save it on your comp then open it. I had to do that.
Nice chart.

50% and 4/9 for me!!! let's just hope this is how it is going to be this year!!

aw the 3.40-3.49 range sucks!! haha look at the percentage columns to the right and left of it!! (im in this range btw)

Pretty cool chart. Although you should definitely understand that not all of the information is likely correct from predents.com.

is this the BCP or the overall science GPA?

It's whatever is listed as science GPA on predents.com. I think most people put their overal science GPA, but there could be a few that put their BCP.
