So i have a question for you all:

The First time you ever took a practice MCAT (preferably the aamc ones, but either one will work), how did you do? and compare that to the last time you took it before your exam, how much did yu improve (or if you have not taken it, how much do you think you will get?

full disclosure: took DAT 3 times, (didnt do the best, look at my older posts if you want to know how well), was accepted into pod school, decided it was not for me, and am now taking mcat to apply for MD/DO schools. I am also prepping for the exam using a princeton review course, and using some other materials i have (some kaplan tests, EK 101, TBR passages) (i really just want to see how i did compared to other people).

after a few people post (if they do), i'll put what i got on my first.

If you're talking about the diagnostic, I got a 23. However, taking a practice exam before you begin studying is useless and shows absolutely nothing. I ended up in the high 20's to low 30's range after a month or so of hardcore studying.

29 on my Kaplan diagnostic, 41 on my last practice test, 39 on the real thing,

30 on first kaplan test. 41 on real thing.

28 on my first real mcat without taking any practice mcats.

33 on my first practice (AAMC 3) mcat while studying for my retake.

Took my first one (TPR1) yesterday after over a month of content review...20...7PS, 4VR, 9BS...needless to say that score on VR scares the sh...out of me.

I scored a 33 on AAMC 7, which was my first one. This was when I was following SN2ed's schedule.

In general, I ranged from 32 to 38 and got a 35 on the real thing. I would say that much of the variation is due to luck in topics tested more than any absolute magic change. As you take more tests and match it to test conditions, you will begin to feel more and more comfortable with the test, the format and the style the questions are written in. Hopefully, by the time you take your real thing it'll feel like another practice test.

ive got a lot of work to do then, 15. aamc10. i have never been a strong test taker, but i guess thats why we work at it. that was with absolutely no content review, (graduated 09, took physics in 04)

You should not take practice with no content review. You should have used the free diagnostic that Princeton Review has online. You wasted that AAMC10.
