Mom: BS in Nursing
Dad: Ph.D. in Chemistry

If I make it, I'll be the first MD

mom: masters in physiology, masters in computer science
dad: phd in EE

both have Ph.D´s...yet on my mom´s side no one has even a full college education (besides her)

Both my mom and dad have a BA in Sociology and Psychology.

My mom is a social worker, my dad is a supervisor in a factory.

My mom was the first (and only) person in her family (entire extended family even) to graduate high school, and the only one who had gone to college until my brother and I went. She didn't even have plumbing in her house, so I'm very proud of what my parents have done for themselves.

Noone should ever be ashamed about what their parents do!

First generation (My older sister didn't go to college either)

But my family is super supportive, and it's humbling when they tell me I'm the smartest person they know.

Mom is a R.N

Dad went to Law School, was a lawyer for about 13 years then became a high school teacher for fun. 👍

Mom: BA in Geography, she was the first in her family to go to college, but then her cousin beat her out for higher education when he became a vet. She joined the military.

Dad: BA in economics. Then he decided to become an LPN and just recently got his RN.

Neither of my parents graduated from high school but sheer will and determination to create better a life for themselves brought a much-deserved early retirement. Disadvantaged yes, but poor no more.

Mom: dropped out of HS (kinda busy giving birth to me, you know), got GED and now has a typical office-type job as a Benefits Administrator
Dad: dropped out of HS and joined the army, got kicked out and is now either dead/a drug addict, who knows?

I'm the first in my family to go to college.

Mom : MD, MPH
Dad : JD, PhD

I feel fortunate and proud of my family...but it can be a little stressful sometimes!

👍 to all you first generation college grads!

Both of my parents finished High school, but they came over from India during their first year of college. They went straight into businesses.

Even without a college education, they are making much more money than most doctors do.

Mom: US M.A. Biology
Dad: Foreign M.D.

He actually just retired from the Air Force as a Flight Surgeon.
It was a mix between occ med sort of for all the fliers on base as well as him flying. Sounded pretty cool.

HOLY BURNING PILE OF POO, most of you have parent(s) that have MDs or BAs? (apologies if I seem superfluous; I'm just surprised at the amount of people with such educated members in their family)
