Too top heavy?

Despite being top heavy, I think you have a good shot at getting into at least one of those upper-tier schools since you are applying to so many. It looks like you have a few good backups just in case which you should be able to get into based on your high statistics assuming you apply early and interview at least moderately well.

I wouldn't bother with UW.

Thanks for the replies, I will drop UW as I have seen this in other threads now. Should I keep the others and apply to a few more mids? Waiting another year is a scary prospect.

Check out my MDapps link to my left. I have the same stats as you. My page has my list. Maybe you can use that to compare. Good luck!

If you don't have a connection to Rhode Island, I would drop Brown as well.

Unless you are hiding EC's from us, they seem relatively average. Outside of Harvard, Yale, Columbia and Stanford you will probably have decent shots at, but without some more substantive EC's, those schools will be very tough to crack into.

Top heavy? Nope. You should aim high! Suggest adding Duke, Loyola, Vanderbilt, U UT, U MI, Wash U, and JHU.

With your caliber, suggest deleting George Washington University Sch of Med & Hlth Sci Georgetown University School of Medicine given their tuition costs. Good luck!

PS quit fussing.

I pretty much have the same stats as you with a few more EC's. Sure, aim high- but still be smart and don't burn your bridges. Personally I included about 4 schools which I could probably get into (safer) and then the rest top heavy. Best of luck, hope to see you at interviews since my list is quite similar to yours.

If you have to cut, cut Brown, UWash. At least those are the ones I cut from my list.
