Anybody who did prelim years in NYC?

I need to scramble for a prelim in NYC tomorrow. I'd rather surg than medicine, which makes things a little easier, but not by much 'cause i cant really find much info on stuff like hours, call schedule, OR time or subsidized housing.
So, if you did a prelim year in NY, please please please tell me how it was and whether you liked it.
