I submitted my application on 12/6/11 (though my letter writer didn't get the letter in until 1/11/12....) and I haven't heard anything yet.

I'm starting to get scared :scared:

So did anyone else apply to the University of Washington's Epi program? They are having visit days the first week of March and I see on the website that you need to register by Feb 10th. I submitted my application back in November and still haven't heard anything yet...

I also applied for the UW's Epi late November but I haven't heard from them anything. In their email which acknowledges all the documents received, they said "All admissions decisions will be made in January and February of 2012. Applicants will be notified of the committee’s decision via email by March 1, 2012"

Still uncertain of the fate of my documents, whether they are in the trash bin or still on their tables...

Hey

I got an acceptance from UMich for Hospital Epidem and Molecular Epidem MPH. I applied on Jan 10th 2012. I was late in applying. I am an international student. What are planning for scholarship and funding?

I am still waiting for Columbia, Yale, Emory and Minnesota.

Fingers Crossed...

Hi, so nice to hear from someone who is in the same boat with me. I applied to the General Epi anyway. The coordinator informed me that all international students will be considered for the Dean's Award, which is full or partial tuition fee. There is only 1 award though. Other than that, external funding (where are you from? any funding from your country?) or GA/TA... =). I don't have a high hope for funding anyway haha

Just had the worst experience with that website where I checked my application and it said "Congratulations!" followed by "Your application has been successfully submitted." When did you submit, and for what department/program?

Sorry your experience was bad!!! My application was submitted and received full by 11/22. Was there a small paragraph either stating a decision has been made or your packet is still with the adcom?

Well, I couldn't take it anymore so I sent UW's epi program an email.... they said that decisions will be ready to view in just a couple of days!! I really just want an excuse to take a trip to Seattle...

Has anyone heard from Columbia, Harvard, UCLA or Berkeley? If so, when did you submit?

Many Thanks!

I am also waiting on UCLA and Berkeley!! Is there anyone here applying for the concurrent program MPH/MBA?

I visited Tulane this past weekend... love it. The people are extremely nice and down to earth, and I like NOLA way more than I expected. Too bad it's so expensive, but oh well... I think I'm sold. :)

What are people doing about financial aid? Are you guys just filing the FAFSA? I know there are limited resources these days, but I think I am behind with applying for scholarships and fellowships, even though I don't know where I will be going. Even with BU's 15,000, I will still be lending a lot of money :( anyone else worried? How do I finance myself without taking out too many loans?

Hey Guys,
Hope everyone's fine today. Well I've just been thinking and I've been poised to think that the reason some of us have not yet heard from JHSPH is probably because we're being considered for scholarship though not excluding those who have gotten decisions.
It's just my humble opinion cos when I think about everything, nothing else better explains the reason for the delay.
Oh well....my tots might also have arisen from depression:laugh:

My applications to Harvard and Columbia were mailed by SOPHAS on 11/15/11. I haven't heard back from either school yet. However according to the Columbia FAQ section of the website, applicants will hear back at the beginning of March. In the confirmation email I received from Harvard, they will start sending notifications from the end of February- end of March.

What track did you apply to at Harvard and Columbia? good luck!

Guys i just got a call from ucb mch department. Seems they are considering me for admission but they wanted to tell me if i had other sources of funding cos they don't give international students scholarship :(. She said i'll hear from them soon

that's just brief update.

I got two things in the "TO do" section of OPUS. But nowhere does it say I am formally accepted... can I expect that I am accepted anyway? What do people think? I'm so nervous!

I like that line of thought process, especially as I am waiting on several (not JHSPH) other schools to respond. I'd like to see the new ASPH when it comes out to see how much more competitive this year was than the rest. Does anyone know when the new ASPH report or US News rankings are released?

Don't worry about it, that means you're accepted. You'll probably get an email in a couple of days!!

yikes13579, the same thing happened to me this week. On Monday, OPUS updated my To Do section with those two enrollment forms. On Tuesday, the View Online Decision link was updated to show my acceptance letter. On Wednesday, the same acceptance letter was sent to my email account.

In all likelihood, you are in, and shouldn't have to wait much longer for the official notification. Congratulations!

Received an acceptance e-mail to BU this morning. My application was verified as complete on 1/5 for anyone interested. This was good news but I'm concerned that I still haven't heard from Yale.

Hmm, I also applied to BU with Health Policy & Management but haven't heard anything yet. Ugh, BU is one of my top choices. That would be really heartbreaking if I didn't get in.

I've been lurking for a while but been too scared to post - but I got my first acceptance today so I felt that it's time! Just found out I got into Yale School of Public Health for Chronic Disease Epidemiology with a Global Health concentration! I'm SO relieved, because I've bene on this site and checking my email like a mad person for the past few weeks! Now waiting for the others shouldn't be as painful!

Accepted: Yale MPH (2/3/12)

BTW: I got to an American university, but I'm originally from Canada and am a Canadian citizen, so I'm pseudo international, I guess? (so international students, do not fear - this is hope for us) =)!

Good luck everyone, you all seem like amazing candidates/future MPH students!

Finally posting on here because I got my first acceptance!! Emory BSHE!!! Can't wait to see some of you there!

It was super stressful waiting so here was my time line for everyone out there still waiting to hear back. Got an email from Emory saying the dept was reviewing my app 12/12, checked OPUS about 20 times a day lol didn't hear anything back so on 1/9 I emailed them. I didn't get into my first choice, global health, and they said that my application was forwarded to my second choice BSHE. I didn't get any emails from them about sending a new personal statement but got an email 1/12 that I was accepted to BSHE.

My stats:
GPA: 3.5
GRE: 510V, 600Q, 4W (never been a good standardized test taker!)
I've been out of school working for 2 1/2 yrs, lots of research undergrad in South Africa at an HIV clinic, working as an HIV counselor and tester for the past year.

I emailed Yale about when to expect to receive a decision. They said all decisions should be mailed out by the end of Feb. Given its been a month since my app was complete and I haven't heard anything, I'm assuming its a no.
