If we applied for the primary care and categorical tracks for a program, will admissions specify which track we are getting rejected from or should we assume both if we get a generic email?
Haha! Love the sombrero. Great clip.
This afternoon the entire west coast rejected me in a giant sequential bombardment while I rounded and then made several courses of quesadillas. Surprisingly, still a good day. Nice to have some closure, at least, and quesadillas.
Keep truckin, everyone. There are still sweet places to go, even if they are cold or their signature food is cheese curds (the best).

Yale specified, have not been rejected yet from other places with separate tracks. If we applied for the primary care and categorical tracks for a program, will admissions specify which track we are getting rejected from or should we assume both if we get a generic email?
Another UCSF rejection today (doesn't really seem necessary to update the list for that), and a UW waitlist.
I'm curious, what do you think the significance of a waitlist is? I know obviously better than a rejection, but can anyone from years before comment on likelihood of obtaining an interview spot from it?
Several courses of quesadillas? Sounds like a good day to me too! Does that mean you just made more than one quesadilla or more then one type? Haha.
Oh and @imresapp I got waitlisted at Duke and I have no idea.
I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling this way! Also rejected from UCSD and UNC with similar stats to bounassezia's with steps in the 250s/260s... all 4-5 advisors I spoke to thought I would match in the top 20. Instead, I'm getting radio silence from places like Colorado, Emory, Brown.... scratching my head on this one. Is everyone all of a sudden scoring in the 250s or something?!
How is this thread helpful? Shouldn't we know the scores for the people being rejected. I mean this would put things into perspective right? and probably help others in the future. For example, today I got rejections from the same programs as everyone else, but maybe I was just dreaming and thought I would get lucky because I have average scores 224/241. But if I see high scorers getting rejections then I have to wonder what is going on.
I don't know. what do you guys think?
If you want to know, my scores were 250+/260+ with majority clinical honors. That should give you an idea of how competitive this cycle isHow is this thread helpful? Yes, I see it's very competitive this year. I saw on previous threads that they say last year was also very competitive. Would you say this year is worse? If you want to know, my scores were 250+/260+ with majority clinical honors. That should give you an idea of how competitive this cycle is
Who knows. I know that my PD and APD are both surprised at how this cycle is going and have given me the impression that it's unusually competitive. No idea if that's accurate thoughYes, I see it's very competitive this year. I saw on previous threads that they say last year was also very competitive. Would you say this year is worse?
I am relatively new to the forums and joined after I did step 1 in June. How I wish I looked at the forums last year because the threads are helpful but I am afraid I am a bit late and have already applied in this cycle. (Last year was tough for me, I was pregnant with identical twins). I just have to pray for a miracle that I can match because as an old IMG I am afraid I may have committed match suicide with my CS expected on December 9th. I applied broadly to 188 programs so we'll see....

Bad luck for us. My interview list makes no sense either. It looks totally random. I wonder though if this is a real phenomenon related to more students graduating or simply the result of people applying more broadly and clogging the interview pipes.
I got rejections from Cornell and NW too (didn't apply MGH). Pretty sure I've been silently rejected from Pitt, GW and Georgetown. I have 250s/270s, all honors and AOA plus national leadership and 8 publications. I know my LORs were excellent bc a high ranked program (1 of 2 that I've gotten) said so at my interview. This cycle makes no sense and I've been very disappointed. Glad to see I'm not alone.
No red flags. Was told by 4 PDs at top places who saw my complete app that I should have no problem and should have my choice of programs. Literally everything on my app is glowing. The only thing I can think is my lower tier school (which was a choice, it was truly the best fit and prob why I've been able to accomplish so much). But yes, I also think the top 20 are interviewing the same 350 people.
+Duke 11/3, twice
I guess they wanted to be extra sure I won't show up. Will make a mental note for my fellowship applications.
