Focusing more on Academic/University Programs with location being an important secondary reason for me. Yes. No.

I've had a few, I wouldn't put too much stock in anything programs do or don't say. Anyone have any idea of where Duke, UNC, and Emory are in terms of prestige? I want to end up back at my home IM program after and they tend to hire folks from Hopkins, Harvard and Michigan. I didn't apply anywhere in the north.
 
Are y'all getting these emails from programs on the caliber of Hopkins, Yale, Vandy? Or smaller programs?

Similar caliber I guess but they aren't strictly saying 'we have you ranked highly'. Most of the recent ones have been like 'we are impressed with your app and interviews and think you would be a great fit'. I assumed they sent those out to most if not all applicants. I'm not sure if you are referring to something more direct.

Hmmm I see. Ya most places haven't sent me anything outside of providing post interview info summaries and/or getting me setup to meet with faculty that they think I need to meet. I only got one generic we ranked you email from Mayo. But no other rank emails.
 
Din't get any email saying anything about ranking, but got a pretty personal email from PD.
So 5 programs in the rank list will be enough to match? Don't want to go to other places at all.
My expectation is to be on 1st-2nd choices, what is yours?

5 places as long as they aren't all reach programs should be fine. I would say based on previous years most applicants will get in top 3.

If anyone is still in search of an ID spot, Abrazo Community Health Program in Phoenix, AZ is still open. It is 1 fellow per year.
 
For those that didn't match, VCU Health has 1 spot left in their ID Fellowship program. It hasn't been filled yet. This the message I received recently:

The Infectious Diseases Division at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia has an opening for a first-year ID Fellow to start July 2024.​

The ID Fellowship Program at VCU offers excellent clinical training in the field of infectious diseases. Our fellows encounter a vast spectrum of illness at VCU Health and the Central Virginia Veterans Administration Healthcare System during their two-year fellowship. Detailed description of our curriculum, rotations, current fellows, etc can be found at:​
