Really stupid question for BOTH exams.

We should be guessing on all the questions even if we don't know them correct (is there an add on penalty for getting multiple questions wrong in a row)? There used to be this thing for the SAT where if you got more questions wrong it adds on a penalty multiplier.

Also, can someone tell me the testing format for both? How many sections are there? Are they divided up into certain systems based sections? How much break time do we get in between sections and how much time do we get per section? Which subjects have the most % questions asked?

Thanks guys.

I can't answer your first question.

NBDE 1 is broken into 2 halves. Each has 200 questions. All of the subjects are mixed up, so there are no "sections". However, the "testlets" (clinical cases) come together. There are about 10 or so questions per testlet, and there is 1 testlet in the first half and 1 in the second half. Other than that, just imagine shuffling dental decks and cutting the deck into two separate decks. That is what NBDE1 is like.

There is no penalty for guessing on NBDE1.
