School Ranking vs Attending Salary

Um, no. Being an attending at ivory tower U always pays much less than private practice. AND typically the higher the ivory tower U on the rank list de jeur, the lower the salary. You pay for the privilege of working there.

Also, that pay is linked to reimbursements and reimbursements are lower at academic centers than private places because they take on the harder, more complex cases that are typically on supplemental insurance (ie. Medicare and Medicaid).

People work at academic centers for specific reasons, BUT pay is most certainly not it.
