What attire is usually required when shadowing an oral and maxillofacial surgeon? I would think scrubs but am not sure.

Scrubs are always a safe bet. That's what i did when i shadowed a general dentist. You can also just call the office and ask if they prefer you to wear anything specific. But generally scrubs so that patients know that you're part of the clinic and not just creeping and watching strangers get their teeth fixed.

I would suggest scrubs! Youll blend in and trust me when I say it can get messy

Definitely scrubs! I worked as an OMFS assistant and always suggested that students wear scrubs, since there's way more blood and fluids involved lol. If not, we always had gowns available for students to wear on top of their clothing!

If you have black scrubs those are the best bet. I’d wear that for everything. Asking to make sure is also great. Not too related but one gp wanted me to wear a polo and khaki pants
