Should I mention in Letter of Intent to Graduate Studies that I will be a reapplicant to MedSchool?

Like all LOIs, I want to start by introducing what I'm doing and my major like this:

I'm currently enrolled as a senior in ____ and by May of this year will have completed all credits required to graduate with _____ . I also am a former applicant of medical school and am seeking to prove myself to be a worthier applicant during reapplication.

Is that last sentence a little too explicit? I feel like exposing myself as much as I can because my honest intent truly is to make it to medical school after failing the first time.

Is this okay? Also does it make sense to say "former applicant" rather than just outright say I've been rejected?
