If Duke, yale and columbia are closed already, then they are on rolling admission. They get more applications on average anyway.

Yeah. That is true but I really think that is a hold over when they use to give out decisions once all your stuff was in. Now, it has changeD with two batches. It does not make much sense to have two batches and give out all your acceptances in one batch. That is pretty much pointless. Columbia Med is not rolling I think Columbia-SMDEP will follow suit. I am mean look at the list of those attending SMDEP compared to other years.. it is quite sparse.

Is it bad that none of the sites i applied to are reviewing my application yet?? I applied to UMDNJ, Howard and UVA but there's just "--" under Latest Admission Action. Also, apparently only one of my LOR's have been received, even though I'm sure they both sent them out before March 1st. What should I do??

Call the sites. But for one thing. Howard always has the "--" under application status. But ya call the sites.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. They don't usually update your stuff too often/quickly. If your recommenders say they've sent your letters a while ago then the SMDEP office already have it. If you want to make sure they've received your LORs, call the number on the website.Good luck!

Same here, but I got accepted at UMDNJ. I hate how we have to accept by the 5th, but can't find out about waitlist status until the 7th, because I really wanted UT-Houston.

My sister got waitlisted at Columbia....its pretty much the same as a rejection. I mean who is going to turn down Columbia?

Hi everyone!!

I got accepted into UVA and UMDNJ and need to make a decision. Any thoughts on either program? UVA provided a nice description of the program along with the decision however UMDNJ basically said nothing. Anybody know how much the stipend is for UMDNJ? I know its $1000 for UVA.

I am soooo excited!!

Oh and my stats are:

African American (not disadvantaged)
Competitive University
Overall GPA: 3.7
Science GPA: 3.3
I applied and submitted all required materials mid-January however they did not find one of my transcripts until Feb 15, so I was in the second pool.
&&nd I got rejected from Howard.

Yeah, I am not too sure. I mean if you at least want to go to the program you should probably accept UMDNJ.

Your chances might be high. Those are not the most competitive sites.

I confirmed to the UMDNJ program and am geeked about it, but I got waitlisted to Columbia which seems to be nice way of saying "rejected"....... but ne who... it seems UMDNJ appears to be the underdogg of the 12 sites.... Can ne 1 tell me about the New Jersey program ??
