hello,
I have recently completed medical school in Italy.
I am studying for the licensing exam and doing stage in the European union.
I would like to find work in Australia, and start a specialty there.

What should I do now? i mean is there a phone number i could use?
I've read much about different procedures, but I am still, confused.
Should I contact a hospital in the city I would like to go to (Melbourne - Sidney)? and what about the AMC?

I would appreciate an answer written as follows:
1. do this and that...,
2. do ...,
3...

Thank you,
Yehuda

Australia is at the point of having a shortage of internships for Australian graduates and IMGs who graduated from Australian medical schools. See this article:

http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/198888.php

It would be very challenging to obtain an internship as an IMG who graduated from a foreign medical school since your priority for an internship position would be after all Australian's and then all IMG's who graduated from an Australian medical school have first obtained their internship assignments. Considering that there will be > 3500 graduates in Australia and 2243 internship positions (per the article), it will be extremely challenging to get a position.

Is it possible to do your training in Europe and apply as a fully qualified physician/surgeon?
