Hey guys,

In addition to my previous post about one of the research positions, I received a response from another Department of Dermatology not so much regarding a lab position but rather the director mentioned that there would a part-time position to write "literature reviews" I am not sure exactly what writing a literature review entails as far as my responsibilities and if it leads to some tangible merit such as a publication in a journal. Would this be a worthwhile project to undertake since I would have a year to do it.

Thanks:

Heres the directors email response:

"Sorry for my delayed response. The CDR does not have a laboratory as
well conduct primarily all clinical research. At this time, we don't
have an official position available for someone such as yourself.

However, we sometimes have students write literature reviews and the
like via telecommuting over email. If this is something that interests
you, we can come up with a project or 2 for you to do in your spare
time."

To me this doesn't sound like a "paid part time job" so much as an offer to guide you to write a big paper during your free time (a derm literature review can take a lot of time).
It could be a good learning experience for you.

Is this just a learning experience or should I inquire in a polite way about publishable opportunities?
