Is residency granted in most states after one year?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
If not, then what states require more? Are there any states that will grant it after one year, but the requirements are tough?

for many many schools, its no. You will spend 4 years living there and even if you change your driver license's address to that state, your tuition won't change, you'll be charged out-of-state tuition

the only school I know of that will allow the status change (and its fairly easy from what I hear) is Buffalo...I think there are a few more schools

The UCs do as well.

UNC does as well, from what I was told.

Unless you buy property some schools will not give you in-state status. Some schools will only keep how you started as their status.

Verify with the school and several students.
