do adcoms surf these profiles and see if student X (they can probably locate profiles by searching for GPA/MCAT/Undergrad Institution) applied elsewhere and got rejected from other schools? that's what's keeping me from starting a profile.

They have better things to do then that!

I know some adcomms do browse the SDN forums and the SDN interview feedback, but I'm pretty sure that they dont' have the time to search through mdapplicants profiles. Mdapplicants is for us to see how everyone else is doing in this process.

I highly doubt it.

But if its true..and the theory that adcoms are on facebook is also true..everything makes so much more sense. Now I see why its a year long process..dammit those sites are addicting.

STFU NOOB!!

Haha. j/k.

In all seriousness, relax. When you start worrying about adcoms pirating information from your mdapps, it is time for an SDN break. It is all good. Just relax.

Have a piece of cake and wash it down with some gin and tonic.

Couldn't agree more. 👍 👍

Apparently, they have time to look through MDapplicants, SDN, facebook, AND myspace. They must have a lot of time on their hands.

They can't. Our profiles don't go into the search function until after we are complete in the application cycle. If you ran a search right now with your stats, your profile wouldn't come up. It's made like that on purpose so ADCOMs can't easily see.

It is possible they discover who you are thru your posts and then click your SDN link to mdapplicants, but this takes a lot of random surfing and searching. They can't search for you thru mdapps, but if you link to your profile, it is *POSSIBLE* that they'd be able to tell.

The 2 interviews i have had so far have asked me what other schools i applied to anyways tho, and I answered honestly... so it's not really a big deal unless you write comments like "1st choice" or "hell hole"

Not true. If you search for profiles and put incomplete profiles, it will come up. I tried looking for mine and found it.

Yeah this is how I had to find mine - I forgot to write down the number when I first made it.

that's why i lied somewhere in mine...try and guess

I wish I was so important that they would care enough to look for my profile!

Does it matter? Doesn't the mdapplicants profile pretty much have everything your regular profile you did have? Or would the check it to see if you were being sneaky and reworded stuff to make it sound better? 😛

What it has that would perhaps be most interesting to adcoms is the schools you applied to, the schools you have interviews at, plus your general comments. I know alot of people put comments about specific schools, which could reflect personality or school preferences.
