What are you guys trying to do this completely stress free summer?

I was going to go to South America with a friend who was studying abroad there, it was going to be awesome. I have always wanted to go to South America.

Not enough people signed up for his study abroad though and now he is going to Eastern Europe. This program is early in the summer unlike the other one, so I don't have time to make money either.

My plans are now open! Suggestions?

I'm up for suggestions as well. Cheap suggestions lol.

Stress free? Ha, hardly. Getting married in June + honeymoon (well I guess thats stress free 😀) and looking at houses.

I'm going to Bonnaroo and on a couple of beach vacations. I would love to go somewhere exotic, but unfortunately don't have the funds.

Training my puppy so she wont be such a brat by the time classes start. I love her though.

Schlep all my stuff across the country in my dirty white ford explorer. Woohoo!

Well, I think I'm going to have to take biochem, is that stress free?

For the part of the summer I'm not taking biochem I'll be hanging out at the firehouse putting in some shifts as an EMT. Yeah, it's technically work, but I can hardly call coming up with unique firehouse pranks work! (We do take the occasional 911 call between pranks however!)

I took a road trip across the good ol' USA a couple of summers ago. Ran into more bad luck than I ever have on any other trip, but it was still amazing 🙂

- English Course
- double workouts at gym
- maybe 2 week trip to southeast Asia with a buddy
- would also love to do las vegas for like 4 days or something
- pick up guitarrrrrrrrrrrr

I love road trips!! Haven't done this yet though.

My one trip before med school is going to be to Ireland for a few weeks. The rest of the summer will be work and school.

research b/c ive been out of school for a year now

👍For all the roadtrips. Going to quit my job early so I have a free month before starting school and also WeFest. 3 Solid days of bliss😎. If you don't know what I'm talking about: http://www.wefest.com/11/index.html

Does a roadtrip that involves moving across the country before school start counts? I still have to spend days cooped up in a car lol.

yay for B-roo - This will be my second year going. I went in 2008, and it was awesome!

Volunteering at a hospital.

Can't go wrong with an American road trip! We're going to Yellowstone & driving up to the Pacific Northwest this summer. Can't. wait. 😀

This is my second year going as well! And I also went in 2008! I can't wait. Who are you most looking forward to see?

what do you mean bad luck??

To make a long story short... my friend and I got robbed TWICE in San Francisco, the passenger side window of our car was bashed in and we couldn't get it replaced until Las Vegas (which was a few days later), then when we finally had it replaced, my friend accidentally shattered the glass of the back window while attaching her bike to the car when we were at the Grand Canyon, and my friend's ID was stolen so we had difficulty checking into hotels along the way. But we made it! I'm from WV and we started in San Francisco-Yosemite-Las Vegas-Grand Canyon-Santa Fe-Albuquerque-Truth or Consequences (really cool town)-Austin-New Orleans-WV. We had a great trip, but it was stressful at times. Thankfully, we made it home in one piece 🙂

See this is why traveling is awesome 🙂 That stuff would have never happened in day-to-day life!

My plans for this summer really are not that exciting. I plan on finding a good apartment, finding good furniture, moving in, buying a new computer, and becoming settled. Also, I will need to begin planning my wedding ,finding a venue because I know the summer will be the only reasonable time to accomplish this task. It will be a busy summer without having a trip.

mumford and sons, florence + the machine, sts9, ratatat, matt and kim, and pretty lights are the top ones on my list. I really wanted to go last year- the lineup was so sick. oh well. 🙄 What about you?

I wanted to go last year too, but none of my friends wanted to go. I can't wait for Sleigh Bells, Mumford and Sons, Florence + the machine, Girl Talk, Arcade Fire, and Iron and Wine.

Is your name a Stargate reference?

If so...we need to be besties.

OMG. Your question made me google it and turns out there's a Stargate Wiki! Is Stargate the "new" Star Trek?

OMG Stargate is the best!!! I've only seen Stargate Atlantis so far, but I'm starting from the beginning of the main series now. 😍

I am working hard and saving up for a visit to Southeast Asia with a close friend and my cousin. Never really had the opportunity to travel like that before due to financial/time constraints. I'm planning on eating my way through that part of the world. The only problem is I'm not too sure how to go about setting this up. Do we just book tours online or are we better off backpacking? Any advice from people with more experience would me much appreciated!

Getting pretty jealous of all the bonnaroo talk :lame:

I've always wanted to see Amos Lee live 🙁.
Amos Lee is awesome live. I saw him before he got big, opening for BB King in a small theater in my hometown. 🙂 Definitely recommend getting to see him if at all possible.

He also used to play for cash outside of 30th St. Station in Philly!

EDIT: I am also jealous of the Bonnaroo talk. The line-up sounds outstanding.

👍 to all the Stargate love.

Road trips are awesome, but I don't think my car can handle another one. I usually just go back home and vegetate there for the summer. This summer will probably include a lot of hiking, though!

I'll be spending as much time on my boat/the beach at my cottage this summer, while I also work my way through Thomas Keller's The French Laundry cookbook. Yummm

You actually got me thinking. Why not try to see him perform before the summers out? I probably won't have time to do anything once school starts outside of seeing family and friends so should really try and see if he's coming to Cali or anywhere nearby. The closest I've seen that I could make is like Chicago.

Anyway, thanks for the unintentional idea! 🙂
