In the ExamKrackers instructional physics book it mentions that there are alot of formulas that we do not need to memorize i.e. thermal expansion and angular frequency to name a few. I am curious from the individuals who have taken the MCAT if there is some validity to their statement.

It's true you don't need it. They don't even test on angular velocity and acceleration.
 
don't waste your time memorizing more than a handful of formulas - if you need something complex, they'll give it to you, but past things like v=f*lambda, don't worry.
