congrats demy...are all of you documents in (LORs, etc..)? what programs did you hear from (if you don't mind my asking)? congrats again!
 
Thanks! I only have one LOR in so far but I've heard from Gainesville, Louisville, and Carolinas Medical Center.

Hey people,
I'm couple's matching (fiance doing ortho..argh....), so we applied to TONS of places. I'll probably end up not doing most of these, after we see what he gets, but in the meantime, I can probably help gauge who is offering when....since I probably have an application there....here's what I got so far: *yes this is totally insane, but there's a method to the madness*

alright! submitted my app yesterday and got two interview offers this morning: Wash U and Phoenix Children's. No LORs up yet, just the app plus PS.

Got an email from CHOP today saying that my app was reviewed but they want to wait for my deans letter before making a decision. Bleh...i guess it is better than a rejection.

I'm sure it was better than the rejection they sent me today 🙁
However, I definitely appreciate and respect programs that actively reject you rather than just letting you wait for an email that never comes.

I'm wondering if anyone would be willing to help alleviate the neuroticism of a fellow applicant. How complete were your applications before you heard from these places? How long before they responded? I'm definitely with the person who said any news was better than just leaving you hanging forever.
How sad is it that it's only October and I'm already like this?

I also got the CHOP "hold" category, I agree, better than rejection. I'm not super-interested in Philly anyhow (rationalizing, indeed) 🙂

In regards to the above post: My final LOR went onto ERAS on Sept 19th, but I was hearing from places like 3 days after my profile page went on. It's totally random and depends on the schools. I applied to 73 places (couple's matching with an ortho freak, er..fiance....it sucks, the couple's match not the fiance 🙂), and have heard from 23, mostly less competitive places, a few upper level, hope that helps.

I definitely understand how you feel. However, I can't complain... I've gotten a few interviews. However, my entire application was totally complete and in ERAS on September 1st. I heard from Dallas the day after they downloaded it and Phoenix about a week later. I heard from USC a week after that and CHLA a week after that. About one per week. Oh yeah, and my CHOP rejection today. 😀
