Hey TT, I tried the link for Western and it brings up Purdue. I tried to correct it, but I wasn't sure how.

Yup. There's usually an official "alternates" thread (aka waitlist). We are that neurotic.

Seriously, it helps keep us sane. You can go celebrate on the acceptances thread, and go cry and be commiserated with on rejections. And the alternates watch like HAWKS to see what schools are pulling from their alternate lists. Not that I know anything about that....

I just put the state that the schools were in except for the ones with specific names (Purdue, Tufts, Cornell, Auburn, Western, UC Davis). I did this because I don't always remember if it's _____ State, or University of _____ and I didn't want to step on any toes.

And then you have to complain about it anyway!

Besides, it IS Iowa State University. Are you telling me that Iowa State and Iowa State University mean two different things? Because that would be overly complicated.

Yeah, but the thread for my school is under Oklahoma, and I'm not making any assumptions.

Really guys, it's just the state the school is in. If someone wants to go through and call each one by their proper names, go ahead. But you have to do all of them. Then maybe I'll change it.

Nope, the closest thing we have to our name is Ohio University in Athens. Actually, when The Ohio State University was founded in 1870 it was Ohio A & M. In 1878, when the college began to shift towards a more comprehensive college that included more than agricultural education, it was changed to The Ohio State University, and the "The" was part of the official name. Guess someone just thought it had a ring to it--I must agree
