For Infectious diseases, we had to make videos. Here are some good ones:
With a 3.6 (with skit)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojjmLZ5LOWU&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL
With a 3.6, without skit

^Those are really good quality, so I would def check them out.

The Average Patient

I kinda don't like these videos.

Yes they are funny, but we are dentists and not comedians or actors, we should be setting examples.

Why not make videos showing how to improve dentistry for both patient and doctor.

I'm offended by some of these videos.

yes I know they are just funny stuff but still, imagine your patients seeing theses videos.

I know at my school the videos are shown at an end of the year banquet. They mostly celebrate inside jokes and the character of the school. If you would like to make a documentary highlighting oral health disparities and advocate for the profession, no one is stopping you. But damn, dental school is hard and these videos are simply a creative outlet for a few laughs. I couldn't care less if my school's video offends you. And why would you show your patient your home movies? Seriously.

1) Most patients don't know or don't care where their dentist went to dental school
2) If a patient wants to take the time and effort to research their dentist's social history so thoroughly as to search their dental school's parody videos, and just HAPPENS to take some sort of offense to the point that they choose another dentist, then so be it.

Unless you plan for your patient base to be exclusively the NSA, then I think a little bit of fun in life is warranted.

I think I'm going to show these dental videos if my patients ask because I want to show them I'm a real person and not some tight Ace who who studied his butt off for 8 years so I could pretend to be nice to my patients.

I wonder the true intentions of the actors and participants of these videos.

I think these videos are funny, but for some reason not too tasteful, too much parody of unethical situations.
