Ok I know I have been asking lots about letters lately but this is my last question-So I currently have 1 psych letter (very strong from the chair of my dept-but its a small program and he knows me very well) and I have 1 letter from FP and one from IM. Initially I thought it would be good to have a mix of letters from fields with lots of patient contact and to pick poeple who knew me best. These are the three that know me best.

However I could get another psych letter from the same psych department as the PD-the director of the C+L service. It would be a pretty good letter but I am scared of some overlap with the chairs since he had input into his letter.

Anyway bottom line-2 psych plus IM/FP or 1 psych, 1FP and 1IM- all probably very strong??

And even if there is an upside to one-if I do just stick with what I have-is there a really DOWNSIDE or disadvantage to only having 1 psych letter?

I was just answering another post, but usually >1 LOR from Psych is optimal. And plus, not too long ago when I applied, we can turn in 4 LOR. So why don't u just turn in the two Psych + IM + FP.... It will only help, won't hurt at all. Best of luck.
