You don't have to accept generic letters just because you went to a UG with large class sizes. When you ask for your letters, ask to meet with your writers in person to discuss your application. This is what I did, along with sending copies of my PS, transcript/cv, and application 'themes' I wanted their letters to reflect, and it worked out very well for me + I heard from interviewers that my letters were strong.
