Hi all,
So a few months ago I posted my first DAT attempt after being pretty sad about my scores. My QR was a 15 which was devastating and my Average was ok. That was in March and now it is June and I just retook my DAT with better scores! So

So my first attempt,March:
PAT: 20
QR:15
RC:20
BIO:18
GG:19
OC:18
TS:18
AA:18

Today, Retake, June:
Pat:23
QR: 19
RC:19 (UGH 1 point lower than first time 😡)
BIO: 21
GC:21
OC:19
TS:20
AA:20
I know compared to others on SDN this isn't a huge improvement but I'm glad it was a improvement, rather than going down! Which BTW the statistics that is going around on these forums saying you score on average 1 point lower the second time is BS!! That scared me but that only happens if you get cocky and think you know it so end up not studying as much.

Ok first here are my study tips & Materials, I'll keep it short and sweet:
DAT Destroyer- I would go through this twice if I were you first time I would do it untimed and write in a notebook the ones I got wrong. Then second time I'd do 30 questions in 30 minutes. The Bio section on this is amazing if you pair it with Cliff AP Notes.

DAT BootCamp- Can you seriously see my jump from 20 to 23? Yeah that's from Bootcamp and there amazing program. GET IT and you not only have 10 amazing practice tests but also angle ranking generators and Top-Front-End Visualizers you can do for extra practice.

Math Destroyer- Ok this is harder than the real DAT BUT if you go through this book you will be SOOO prepared for the QR. The reason I did bad on the QR is because it was at the end the test so my brain was already fried, and I most likely made simple mistakes. Math Destroyer is a LIFE SAVER. Also practice QR at the end of the day to build your stamina.

The week before I took full length practice tests everyday on Bootcamp. Then the 2007 and 2009 ADA tests.
I got about 1 point higher than my 2007 and 2009 tests.

Now here are my questions for the SDNers,
Is this retake high enough from my original to increase my chances of getting accepted? (Background:
My gpa (3.46) which is not that high. I do have good Extracurriculars: Analytical Chemistry Research, Shadowing General Dentist~150 hours, Supplemental Instructor for Statistics, Vice President of Public Relation for a Co-Ed Health Fraternity.)
And I increased in everything EXCEPT 1 point in RC, this isn't terrible right? I mean I had a 20 and went to a 19 UGH I can't believe it but 1 point won't be a big deal since I increased in all other areas correct?

Very nice scores! Congrats on the improvement...Love a 20/20 and your GPA is fine. Make sure you have some community service on your application, schools like that and a really strong personal statement.

I am happy you found the Destroyer helpful in your studies...

Wishing you the best, keep us posted!

Thank you for the advice and also for the destroyer which helped me immensely in my studies!

It's not fair to call the statistics BS when they say on average you may do worse.
Ok yes I agree, but it freaked me out a bit when I was reading it on other forums so I just wanted to put my opinions on there so other students lurking these forums don't freak out about being part of that statistics and rather feel confident going into the test.
