How much do residency directors look at your 1st and 2nd year grades? Do they look more at your board scores, lors, and clinical rotations more?

pre-clinical grades are only important in so far as getting AOA.
as long as you didn't fail, no big deal.
even if you did fail, if you remediated through exam or whatever, its still not so much of a big deal.

The way you are weighted for residency apps is:

USMLE step 1 (yep, 1 test pretty much dictates your life. Sad but true)
AOA status
3rd year clerkship grades

if you have excellent stats for the above, you have an excellent chance of getting into whatever residency you want.

I'm an Osteopathic student but I can assume its similar right? Good 3rd year rotation grades and good comlex/usmle scores along with lors
