hey all -
at one of my interviews recently, next to my name on the app folder - it said +2 in bold. now i know that me knowing what it means has no real value to the potential success/failure of my app, but i am REALLY curious. Does anyone have any insights into the process?

thanks and :luck:

You might try going and posting this question to that specific school's thread for the Class of 2010. Some of the thread participants are likely to be student interviewers. Maybe one of them will clue you in.

look on the bright side, + is always good at least mostly, hehe.

maybe its a way of separating out males and females in code...

+2 means plus two balls

and 0 means no balls

:meanie:

not sure about your specific school, but at SUNY Upstate, the admissions director told us when our file is reviewed, the 20 admissions officers will vote on each aspect of our file, giving us a score of from 0 to +2. For example, someone will read your essays, and everyone will then give you a score on that portion. Scores are totaled up, and if you have above a certain score, you are in.

Can't tell you what system that school uses though.

HAhaahahaha ....+2 mean .. I think ...you have better change of getting in .........but who knows it could be two balls ....

Imagine if you got a +1. Intimate details huh?

I believe at that particular school, a "+2" means that you are 2 "human units" above the average applicant. You probably either served in a 3rd world country or saved a life, am I right?

Human units? What an interesting concept.

"I'm pleased to inform [X medical school] that I have recently gained a second testicle. I believe this strengthens my application in a number of ways. Primarily, I can now honestly say that 'I have the balls' to handle it in medical school.

I have courteously provided numerous high quality photographs for verification. I have also attached two letters of recommendation, one from my doctor and one from my girlfriend, both attesting to the excellent physiological and functional quality of my new testicle.

Thank you for your time!"

dude... i bet the gunners out there are having state of the art surgery so they can put as one of their ECs... +3... if you know what i mean adcom... 😉 👍

and i guess i dont know the OP is male i just assume... maybe +2 refers to nice boobs but i imagine their would be more to the system than that... it would be like +2C or something u know...

It's how many more application cycles you're going to have to endure to get in to particular med school. No No just kidding!! It's definitely the testicle count.
