1) Generally, with airplane tickets and everything else included - will attending a Caribbean medical school be cheaper/more expensive/or similar to a US medical school?

2) How long does it take to get an MD degree from a Caribbean medical school? I have heard mixed answers for this.

I am mainly focusing on Ross and SGU. The more clarification, the more id appreciate it - Thanks

Just the tuition itself is more expensive than US med schools.

Generally, carib will be more expensive when taking everything into account. It will take four years like the US to get your MD degree assuming everything goes well ie..you pass your classes, you find your rotations on time (this is especially true for ROSS). If you looking for cheaper tuition, consider SABA.

1) It depends on which US MD school(s) you are comparing... but for the most part the big 3 caribbean schools are more expensive than US schools.

2) It takes 40-48 months depending on which school and on how you organize your clinical rotations.

Thanks for the replies.

Can someone tell me, generally, if DO schools are more expensive than MD schools?

I wonder if Carib schools could be cheaper than a lot of DO schools with everything factored in?

I'm not really sure why you are making such a fuss about how much a school costs.

If money is your only deciding factor... then email every school you're interested in and ask for their expected tuition and cost of living.

Or go to SABA, tuition is very low and there are no federal loans. Or go to some Tier 5 Caribbean school that charges 2000 a semester.

It sounds like you either need to get your priorities straight... or you need to just email the schools. I don't see how asking such broad questions is going to help you.

You're essentially asking, "Is a Benz or BMW cheaper?" Well it would depend on the model.

For the broad questions, I just want to get a feel for it. There are people on these boards who know a lot more about this stuff than I do, or will know in the near future.

If someone can answer my question - Generally, are DO schools cheaper or more expensive than well known Carib schools?

Thanks
