Did anyone write anything for the secondary question? Is this secondary question supposed to be, why jefferson?

Having applied twice to Jeff I can tell you that you should definetly put something into the essay portion. I wrote a "Why Jeff" the second year and it got me the first interview of the year and a "high priority waitlist" (that I withdrew from after a Colorado Acceptance). The first year I did not write anything and did not receive an interview.

Hopkins doesn't screen but sneds their invites out in waves I hear so if you didn't get it this week maybe you'll get it next week...I say go ahead a fill the secondary out...I did and I am mailing it out tomorrow

has anyone successfuly transmitted jefferson's yet? any suggestions?

I submitted it today and it worked. I don't have a humanities LOR so I told them I'd be putting in one from an econ prof. Apart from that, I left it blank. If you look at the paper version of the app, there is nothing like that question on there. The way they worded it, it looks like it is just reserved for technical details (ie. "My school doesn't have a committee, so I will be sending in individual letters, etc."

I also left it blank. I got the impression that they meant for it to be used if, for example, you had a lousy semester you wanted to explain, or some other situation with your application.

I called Columbia this morning and the receptionist said that 3000 requests for secondaries were sent out yesterday but I still haven't received one from them. 😕

I received UVA's email and then a second one stating this:

July 15, 2004

Dear 2005 Applicants,

We have just discovered that the website we sent to you is directing applicants to the 2004 supplemental application instead of the 2005 supplemental. The programmers are working to correct this problem now, and I hope it will be fixed by tomorrow (Friday) at the latest. Please do not fill out the supplemental application until we have the website redirected to the 2005 supplemental application. I apologize for the confusion.

yeah. someone posted that they sent in the money in asap and their rejection letter was postmarked the day the check arrived at their place. i hope they don't jerk me around like this.

Yah, I am not happy either. This is nuts. Primary, secondaries, and THEN INTERVIEWS. I don't live near any med. schools, so that is gonna be another huge cost. I know we can't do anything about it, but venting helps.
