hey guys, im having trouble with the jeff secondary. i'm typing the 2000 charac essay in and every time i finish and go on it says my time was too long and i have to re login.but i cant cut and paste the essay cause it causes trouble....ive done this twice! any suggestions?

That's odd. I was able to cut and paste. Try giving them a call and asking what's up. I remember the system is very glitchy.

"Complete the App" means just that....my app with them is complete. It took 3 minutes to write a check, turn around in my chair to grab a photo, put on a stamp, and tell the letter service to send my letters. My room looks like a application factory

I was having the same problem. I found that newline/carriage returns gave me an error. In the end I had to make my essay one long paragraph. I'm also going to mail my application in case there were other unseen errors.

univ of iowa came today in a snailmail packet inviting to an online app (seems unscreened even though the website says they screen). doesnt look too bad, 2 short essays (1500char) and a bunch of biographical info that will be a repeat from AMCAS (but most is prepopulated). fee is $60.

i really don't think you need to worry about that since i seriously doubt they read the personal statements before the first screen...

I was just going to ask the same question. I am a NY resident but I have pretty good stats myself (37 MCAT, >3.6 gpa, good ECs). I haven't received anything yet. I'm guessing they either do batches of them, or they are just processing them slowly? I dunno, hoping for the best though.

Has anyone gotten a rejection from UMich yet? When those start rolling in I think we should start to worry.

They're actually granting some interviews based on numbers alone...did you check your status page on the umich application link?

Umich granted me an interview already, I was surprised. I think they're doing it for either in-state applicants or UMich undergrads with certain GPA/MCAT only. I'm a Michigan resident and undergrad student at U of M w/ a 3.7/33.

if i am retaking the MCAT in august. will a secondary just gather dust until they get my MCAT scores? i have already got a couple secondaries from schools that screen-i think... i got one from miami (i live in new york) they said i meet the requirements for a secondary out of state. will anyone accept me before they get my august mcat scores if i send in a secondary now? someone tell me yes and that i'm fabulous and they should accept me now! 😳 🙄 i hate just sitting on secondaries but if i dont need to come up with another $1000 this week that's good too! 👍

sorry for the late response, I was making dinner. I got the umich secondary on July 15th and got the recommendation request today, so they are doing them really fast. I'm surprised because I guess I didn't think I'd pass through the initial screening so fast with a 3.3 GPA but I do have a 38 MCAT so that might of helped. No request for interview yet because it's actually take my committee a while to compile my letter, and I'm also not a resident.

Well I am a Michigan resident same stats, except 3.97 GPA... but no secondary for me. I know not having a secondary from them should not freak me out.... I guess I will just keep telling myself this...

I submitted AMCAS June 30th.... what about you other people who are receiving secondaries from UMich. When did you submit?

This seems like the only logical order they would go in- i.e. if they went by instate/out of state or first letter of last name what would they do if they worked up to P then someone with B submitted their AMCAS? or what if they did instate first, got them all done and started out of state and another instate submitted? just think of these situation on a larger scale... it seems most logical that the best way to do this type of thing in order would be to go by order of submitted ACMAS- and most fair.

so, did you do the password-request thing with case? if so, when you completed the secondary, did you get the usual auto-emails saying that you were done, thanks for paying, etc.? if you did, i suppose i'll get started on that as well...

Yes, I did get my password that way.
I do not think I will submit Case until I get an invite. If I do not get an invite by the end of the week I may call them up and ask them about it. I don't think I would feel right submitting and everything without an invite.

That might be why there's a difference. I submitted my AMCAS on June 7th I believe and it took them less than a week to verify.

Yea, I'm sure it's because of when you submitted...my AMCAS was already verified on June 17. So don't worry, I'm sure the secondary is coming🙂

Hey guys,

I've been meaning to post for a while but work is insane so Ive just been idling by...GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE APPLICANTS FOR THE CLASS OF '09...i hope we all get this 🙂

Anyway, so I've completed secondaries for UVa, Columbia, Hopkins, Yale, Penn and Rochester...and am working on Case. I started theirs before I got the email (and went to the site) and I got an email from them last night (I had started yesterday) so maybe they're just waiting for people to initiate it on their own...

Waiting on Duke and Vandy (groan...prob won't get anything from them), VCU/MCV, Emory and Mt. Sinai...but I did talk to Mt. Sinai today and they said that secondaries won't be out till AUGUST at the earliest...so all u sinai fans will have to wait a while...but if u email em they might offer to let u be a "tester" for their secondary (they did offer it to me and I accepted) so that could speed up the process a little...plus look nice in general to the Ad Com 🙂

Current dream school: Yale 😍 😍

They get apps downloaded from AMCAS in bunches and then send secondary invites. The ppl getting them now seem to be those who applied in early June...but don't fret, yours is probably coming soon! Enjoy the time off....when they all start rolling in it will be hell....

gosh, if i had to do all these essays during school...kiiiiiiiiiilllllllllll myself....
