I got a "dear applicant" email from Wake Forest today informing me that my AMCAS has been received and that they'll be in touch with me when more info is required of me...????

beats me, but i got the same email. i'm guessing they're starting to look at apps now to decide who gets a secondary?
 
anyone start uchicago's secondary? yeeesh, thats the mother of all secondaries
 
I got wake forest letter to. When i called them they said they wioll nitify if we are getting a supplmentary within the next 3 weeks.

Got Uniformed Services, USUHS, this morning via email. No application fee, just have to write another personal statement, on "why military medicine." Now I have to get another recommendation though, one on my clinical work. 🙁

I love how NYMC's email was 30% how you can pay them and 60% how you have connections to the school. sheesh.
 
anyone know which schools pre-screen before sending out the secondaries? i'm guessing if we haven't received their secondaries by now we haven't been selected? tear.

I got that too...the email was so short and to the point I half expected it to say "the email will self destruct in 10 seconds"

NYMC

So I just got the NYMC secondary and am trying to fill it out. I'm only submitting a letter from my undergrad committee. On the next page it keeps saying I have completed graduate classes and need to fill in names for those recommenders. The thing is, I haven't. Is this a general bug everyone's getting, or is there some mistake in my file I need to rectify?

The School of Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University on the Medical College of Virginia Campus has received your preliminary application from AMCAS. Your application will be reviewed by a subcommittee. Decisions are made at that point as to which candidates will receive a supplemental application from us. It has always been our committee?s policy to send supplemental applications only to those candidates who are deemed competitive within our applicant pool.

It usually takes 7-14 days after the receipt of your application from AMCAS to complete the initial review of your application. Thank you for your interest in our school and best of luck with the application process.

Oh, quit complaining, Mr. U Mich secondary with LOR invitation. 😉 Your NW secondary is prolly in the mail. It's me who should be worried about that pre-secondary rejection.

Is everyone that is receiving the VCU/MCV email in-state? I'm an out of stater and wondering cause i havent received the email yet. Also has anyone got the actual secondary cause someone earlier posted that it only takes 10 minutes to do, so im wondering.
 
I got an e-mail today from Wake Forest saying that they had recieved my AMCAS application and that they would notify me when further information is required. What the heck does that mean? Does Wake Forest screen? Has anyone recieved a Wake Forest secondary yet?

look at page before.. wake forest will notify you again within 3 weeks.. i guess they do screen

im out of state and just got the email today. maybe they only prescreen out of staters?
