Howdy folks... I will tell you I interviewed on one of the last 4 days of interviewing this cycel and Dr. H.. very explicitly stated thet there were 44 remaining spots to be given out... She cited that approximately 30% to a third would probably be OOS (citing their proportionality)... many OOS applicants were vying for approximately 12-15 offers for the next round...

This sucks... I have a feeling there wont be any major celebrating come the next acceptance day.

We should stop counting down in protest 🙁

Further... they had over a hundred people that hadn't been evaluated by the committee yet... hence the delay in offers... Further, since i asked the question as I am oos, the majority of those people who interviewed later tended to be OOS because of the way their computer system worked and the more competitive nature of the review of OOS applications... As a result, it was clear that many OOS applicants were vying for approximately 12-15 offers for the next round... On the flip side, she said that OOS alternate/waitlists tended to move more than thein state list perhaps balancing things out a bit... anyway, just thought i would contribute...

I think if I don't get in, it was still a pleasure chattin w/ ya'll. We have suffered long and it's too bad we all can't get in. I wish Dr. H checked up on these boards and let us in on our pure commitment to VCU (we'll some of us).

44? so then either they're lying about how many acceptances went out or they cut the class size down to 150 or so. Or they're lying about how many offers will go out this month. Or someone along the line misunderstood....

But if we go by numbers posted from earlier, then they should be giving out 80 or so. This month is their last decision date, after this it's waitlist time.

However, if only 44 offers are going out, then... ****. Just ****. I'm hosed. 🙁

After this month's offers go out I'm planning on sending an email to Dr. H to ask if my husband should look for a job and a house in VA or ME. However, if VCU says yes, I will absolutely withdraw from every other school within the hour.

Yeah, I'm a bit disturbed by the whole "44" thing... I was OK with 80... but 44?!? As an OOS, that pretty much means I'm up a creek without a paddle (or a boat, for that matter).

I think it's a few factors... one, the non-rolling admissions means there are a bunch of us in nowhereland for a LONG time. Two, they must like to interview the savviest, coolest bunch of people ever (haha). Three, in all seriousness, I notice some schools have very few and quiet threads, while other schools have very numerous and active threads. Some randomness, no doubt.

damn right. I've been waiting for VCU since Oct. Some of these noobs come in claiming they have waited a while. You have no idea.

My VCU interview was the end of September. I've been patient... but dang. It's getting to where I need to make a decision soon. Draft to Dr. H all ready to go post-March notifications if necessary asking if my husband should look at VA or ME for a job.

Rigth now all we have is our hope... and our number between 1 and 3 (you figure the 3+ers have been given the heave-ho if you listen to what Dr. H says). Only a few more hours until it's 8. Wow, and I thought the waiting was bad for that post-interview 6-8 week period. I guess it's later int he season. And the stakes are so much higher.... for some of us, the stakes are VERY high. I wish everyone well!

Last year they had an update on 3/11 saying offers would go out the week of 3/21. Sure enough, acceptances went out 3/21 last afternoon/early evening. It seems waitlist movement started the first week of April.

They've gotta do something SOON.... right? right? 🙁

Only one week remains. The time will pass remarkably fast. Let's all stay optimistic and hope for the best. Regardless of the news, I just want to say that something good will come of it, as long as you have a good outlook. I don't mean to inject any discussion of religion, or fate, but I must say that I do believe God has a greater design and that whatever happens is meant to be for a higher reason.

Wow. I can't believe they still haven't updated the website message with a confirmation of the offer date. Makes you wonder... what the heck are they waiting for? Will we get another "sorry, we decided only to offer a limited number of acceptances; best of luck next year!"????? Are they toying with us? I feel like a mouse surrounded by cats.... bat bat bat.
