did you get rejected pre-secondary?
cause that would be odd...i remeber you had a great MCAT score...i don't even have mine yet and have low GPA but got and completed their secondary yesterday.

Oh no 🙁 Sorry Terra. IF your ugpa or science gpa is under 2.75 I think they automatically send a pre-secondary rejection. You can call them and ask for a more definitive reason.
 
Terra, where do you work in CO? I myself was a medic for Northglenn. DMU didn't want me either -- I ended up at UNECOM (they seem to love us folks from CO for some reason).

It doesn't matter how many "no's" you get, you just need one "yes". Keep your head up. With your awesome MCAT, someone will accept you.
 
Does anybody else feel like they applied to too many schools? At this point I feel this way. However if I would have applied to 6 or 7 and had no acceptances, I would forever kick myself while I would be thinking if I would have applied to 15+ then I would have had an acceptance.

Yeah, I know I applied to waaaaay too many schools (37 :wow:).

I'm still waiting to take the MCAT so that's why I applied "broadly". Well, I guess we sure won't be bored with all these secondaries to fill out!

Schools operate on a rolling admissions basis. The sooner you are complete at the schools, the sooner your file will get reviewed for an interview. Therefore, strive to send your secondaries in as soon as reasonably possible and definitely within the timeframe that is specified in the instructions, should there be any such specification.
 
i was looking at secondary essays and a few schools ask about experiences related to underserved areas. I havent quite done any volunteer work in this sort of setting. So for the essay should I just say I have not explored this area, but am open to it?

Hmm...I didn't look at their website that closely I guess.

What's up with these letter of recommendation instructions? Do they expect us to go back and get new letters? I think I'm just going to send in the letters I already have and if they don't like them, they can bite me. What's everyone else doing?

What schools have people received secondaries from? I already got DMU's and MSU's, but I haven't heard anything from AZCOM, CCOM, KCUMB, or Nova. Actually, Nova sent me an email about financial aid, but nothing else. Has anybody heard from these schools?
 
I know that transcripts are sent for the primary application but do we need to send transcripts for the secondaries to each school? Thank you!🙂

no transcript is needed to send in with the secondaries.

Didnt apply to MSU, but I got the NOVA email thing, and DMUs, UNECOM, VCOM (invite, secondary not available yet)

i didn't write anything there...i think i elaborated on everything in my AACOMAS enough...if they want more invite me for interview LOL
 
I also did not write anything. I assumed it was more for explaining past convictions or things like that.

Ditto. The DMU secondary was pleasant to fill out. It took me about 7 mins. LOL, I wish they all were like that.

yeah...tell me about it...i would love that very much...writing essays makes me want to shoot myself😱
i am still to write LECOM 2nd essay...for now i am just done with DCOM's.
i can see now why people don't ever want to go thru this process again:laugh:

I got a presecondary rejection from DMU as well. It kinda made me laugh when I got it. I live in CO too. I'm in Boulder. We should have a colorado "lets do our secondaries together" party.
 
That link didn't work for me either. Click the link for LECOM that is in the first post in this thread. That one works.

Here's another question about the secondary. Should it have the same format as the PS from the primary ap, or should it be more to the point? Do I have to include an intro that tells somewhat of a story and draws the reader in? I'm having so much trouble with this.

no...for the secondary just answer the question...i guess this is the moment when you should be more specific...but on the other side i guess it is good to try to not be too dry in the writing either...making it interesting is a good idea.
that is what i did for DCOM and now almost done doing for LECOM.
i think it should also not be any longer then PS...just be honest and concrete and i think that will always work the best:luck::luck:

i just called them to ask about interfolio but was directed to the voice mail of admissions councelor...so i emailed them. I will post the responce as soon as they get back to me but i am sure they are ok with interfolio and then no need to cover sheet.

Well, got the email this morning. My file is complete at DMU and they'll lemme know if im worthy of an interview or not within 30 days. 😳
 
I sent my secondary application to DMU but haven't taken the mcat yet. Will be taking it in July 24. Do you think they will even look at my application or wait till I have my mcat in?

your file is not complete if they did not get your MCAT...so no they will not look at it.

and i got the responce from LECOM...they accept interfolio so you don't have to worry about the cover sheet.

and to all of you guys...when you have a question don't waste your time...email schools DIRECTLY...look it just took not even a hour for me to get a responce from admissions coordinator at LECOM, and at least i have a definite answer in writing and know what i am doing...just my 2 cents of advice🙂

I sent in my DMU app with everything but the LORs. They are going to wait for the LORs before looking at it. I assume they will wait for the MCAT scores.

Thanks! I ended giving them a top-ten list of things that I will do if they accept me 😛 JK, I will only do that after an interview 😉
 
For UMDNJ--are you using a seperate sheet for the essay? It seems like they only give about 2 paragraphs amount of room...

their secondary says to attach additional pages if needed...i would just write a page long essays on separate pages and attach them to the rest of papers...it will be more neat that way.
i guess using just common sense is the best...i always try to imagine i am an adcom and that i would be really frustrated with unorganized paperwork😀
 
I finished my primary AACOMAS application on June 25th. Should I be concerned that aacomas hasnt processed it yet?

email them and find out...maybe they are missing something.
 
I have a problem. The only DO I know who can write me a rec is currently a resident. Is that a problem? Does the letter need to be from someone who is actually established in a practice?

I have to wait for two LORs though,arrgh. DMU is really high on my preference list. In my position, I need to get it in as early as possible. Did you send your LORs electronically or before today?

I plan on sending my LORs to LECOM via interfolio as well. Does anyone know if those waivers are necessary if using interfolio. I did the whole confidentiality thing on the site, so I didn't see the letters.😕

You have to include all scores from previous MCAT tests. You can mark down that you plan on taking a future test on AACOMAS.

How long did it take for you to get the MSU Secondary? I didn't get it from MSU but received them from the other schools that I applied to.

from all i asked is seems like you need those forms only if you are doing your lors separetly. interfolio has the waivier form themselves...no need to do it twice😀

oooh that is NICE. I was going to send that form in myself to interfolio. That would save me time if we don't have to send it in! Did LECOM confirm this?
