I bought the 2007 Berkeley Review Physics, Orgo, and Gen Chem books on eBay for $85 with free shipping. I haven't received them yet, but does anyone know how different they are from the newest editions? Was that a good deal?

$85 total for the whole set? THAT'S AMAZING. I bought mine for like $50-100/book. I have different sets for each book. The newest set sounds like the passages are set-up differently, so SN2ed's schedule is going to have to be modified a little for those people. Other than that...you should be fine.

Seriously though? $85 each or for the whole set?

Yeah, it was $85 for all 6 of those 2007 books. I'm a little worried about the newer Berkeley Review books being a lot better than these older ones, but I guess I'll see how they work out. I'm going to be a junior in the fall so I won't be taking the MCAT for another year from now anyway. Have there been major changes in the 2011 books?

You should get the new physics book since that underwent major changes. If you run a search you should see a good number of threads on what changes where made.

I actually had the same question. Are the 2007 Bio, Orgo, and Chem books essentially the same? Does anyone know? Thanks

I am taking the MCAT in July and I have studied using those books. They are great!!!

I am in the process of purchasing some TBR books from 2009 or older. I saw earlier the on this thread that the physics books underwent a big change. What year did they make this change?

My signature has a link to a thread that answers your question. In short, you'll be fine with O chem that's 2007 or later. G Chem got better with each printing in small ways but nothing major, so 2007 won't be a problem. Later is better but not so much so that you should drop money to upgrade. For physics, the 2011 book is so much better than the earlier version that it's worth upgrading.
