ok guys. so I called cuz I posted on here that we might hear tomorrow and I didn't want to be wrong and have everyone waiting. The girl told me that their initial plan was to send them out tomorrow, but they re-read the AMCAS rules and they decided to send it all out Monday. ugh. I also would like to dispell the rumor that only in-state students get accepted in the first round. I asked and she said that no, more than half of the acceptances will be out-of-state students. gl to you all and sorry I was mistaken!

Hey...Thanks for the update. Now my weekend won't be ruined. Did she happen to tell you how many acceptances will be sent out on Monday? Good luck to you all:luck:

Thanks, even though I'm not hearing back from them, I'm just as excited to hear back, b/c, as you can tell VCU is my top choice.

So I got the vague update..... How long did you guys hear back from the school after receiving this? I have been looking through th thread but no one has specifically given a time span. I'm kinda nervous.... I really like VCU alot!!!! Help!!! LOL! 😍

Can't help you there, but if you don't mind, how long after you were complete did you the vague update? 🙂
 
I was complete on 9/19. Just got the status update today. I hope I get an interview. 😍

How long were y'all complete before you had word on any interview? I've been complete since 9/16 buy haven't gotten any love yet (says it's in review)... still too early to derive any conclusions from it?

FINALLY I GOT IN!!!!!!!!!! AFTER 5 waitlists from last year..and reapplying..I"M IN!!!!
 
All the emails about updates are sent at 6:03pm. So, if you're west coast, you won't hear anything until 6:03pm, not 3:03pm. So, I have to wait a few more hours.
 
Wait, I got in too!!!

No email, but check your status pages....they have been updates!

Congrats to you bolo, it's a great feeling, huh?
 
This whole process has been horrible. Last year I interviewed at 6 places and was waitlisted at 5 and subsequently rejected. It feels so good to finally know that my dream will come true! Good luck to everyone!

Hey...Congrats Bolo and Booswim!!!! I just got the word as well. :luck: TO EVERYONE

I received my status change email at 6:02PM. I checked my email after I saw Bolo's post
 
so if people have not gotten the update message at login screen, then they have to wait to Dec. 15? or are they still giving out acceptances and changing statuses as we speak for east coast/central?

As one who went through MCV/VCU app last year - if you don't get in this round, you are kept on "the list" for every subsequent round. Each person is ranked after the interviews and given a number from 1-5 (decimals are allowed). Each decision date, the committee decides to take everyone with an interview number of ___ and up. Those people get in, everyone else stays on the list.

So can you find out what your number is? Nope. Don't even ask. They won't tell you. Ever. Not even a hint. you have a better chance getting the Bush's Baked Bean recipe.

Can you stay on the list forever and find out after classes started that you didn't get in? Yup. Last year I interviewed early and was on the edge every decision date. got waitlisted after the last decision date. Never got in. It truly sucked. On the other hand, there is a distinct chance you can get in on subsequent decision dates. Keep the faith.

Historically, MCV/VCU has had a LOT of waitlist movement. However, last year seems to have been an anomaly and very little waitlist movement occurred at a vast majority of schools.

Good luck to those of you still on the list, congrats to those of you who got in. It was one of my top choices last year and I really felt it was a wonderful school.
 
i guess iwasnt accepted .. 🙁 no status email.. and page still gives me that old "hold" message.

mms2k7, I didn't receive anything either--an email or an updated status. Are you an in-stater? It seems most--if not all--the acceptances tonight were out-of-state.

Did any in-staters receive an update of any kind tonight?
 
The earlier dates generally are very low numbers of acceptances. VCU is one of those oddities that come March 15 (the last date) will have out EXACTLY 184 acceptances (the total number of seats in the class). VCU NEVER overaccepts.

So yes, 20 acceptances for October would be about right. Sorry. 🙁

nola, I'm doing well. In a DO school in Maine and very happy. Tired, but happy. Gross is over in two more weeks. 🙂

UMass is like that too. They have exactly 100 seats and the state won't allow them to accept one more or one less. That's why so many people except a very few wait until April to find out their status.

nope, ooS 🙁 ..called them up, they said they release every 15th of the month.. so we'll have to see.
 
CONGRATS TO ALL THOSE ACCEPTED!!! To those of you who did not get accepted this last cycle, its way too early to lose hope...They have several opportunities throughout the yr to be accepted and then theres always chances after the waitlist is formed to get in. I interviewed last yr in september, then waitlisted in the spring and finally got accepted 3 wks before school started...and i know at least 5 other people who were accepted around the same time as me or even later... good luck to you all :luck: :luck: :luck: And shy, glad to hear you and your family are doing well, good luck with anatomy!
