goes with my theory then... thanks for supporting it with some real evidence! 🙂

Good Luck Everybody!!!! I will be there this fall! I am an out of state resident as well. I applied really early and was lucky to get an interview in Sept. I hope you get good news in 8 days! :luck:

Yeah this waiting is absolutely driving me nuts. If I get put on a waitlist on the 15th, I'm going to lose my mind. From the number of spots they have at this point, it seems like this is going to be a good year. I really hope for good news because I've got fun St. Pat plans that are going to be hard to enjoy if its bad news. By the way, i'm instate and was complete and offered an interview back in the mid-fall but the only dates I could schedule were in feb. I had called the admissions office to see if there was anything earlier and he said no b/c it depended on how many staff interviewers had signed up for spots at that time, so I dont necessarily think that interview date correlates to priority (unless you have a pre-interview hold i guess) Keeping my fingers crossed for one more week!

Complete early Sept., interviewed early Oct., held for first semester grades, instate and will remain positive until classes start in Aug. Although, amcas will be done on June 1st 🙂

I called the admissions office and the woman told me that March 15 IS the day. So countdown is now to 7 days 😱

The Admissions Committee has met to discuss your file. Your application is being placed on hold for action at a later date.

:scared: Even thought this doesn't mean much, it runs chills down my spine. People were discussing me! :scared:

Anybody else get this email?

Hello - just wanted to let you all know that today was the last interview day at MCV. There were 6 of us and we were shown a lovely time.

We were told that the Admissions Committee would meet Monday and finish running through applications. At this point, they would fill up the remaining 80 seats in the class and add more to the waitlist (it sounded like most of these seats would be OOS as IS gets filled up earlier?), and we would receive an email with this decision on Thursday (15th).

So good luck to everyone waiting for a decision.

thanks for the info! By the way, who is that in your avatar?

When did you interview...I interviewed on the 27th of Feb. I think it's awesome that they looked over my file in such short time!

hmmm, i definitely interviewed late january. Good luck in a week! :scared:

Then why are these twits presently updating status pages with "me may/may not interview you"... just reject us... we're grown up. 👎

I'm hoping for more instate spots. If you look at the previous pages many of the accepted were OOS and if one looks at the allo class site at least 15 there are OOS. Taking into account that not everyone posts on here I would have to believe that at least half of the OOS spots are gone. I would assume that most of the IS are also gone but 80 seats are alot...

It's 80 seats total, including OOS and IS. From what somebody posted earlier, it seems as if there are a little more IS seats than OOS.

maybe i read it wrong, but it seems like that person posted there would be more OOS spots for the 80 than IS

i think he was referring to the waitlist, it makes sense to have more people on the OOS waitlist because that moves quicker.....but i'm pretty sure at least 40 out of 80 spots in march will go to in staters because Dr. W-C told me so🙂

That was a self-portrait I drew when I was in a shaggier state last year 😉

Well...it looks like I won't be getting that last minute interview. But on the bright side, all you SDN people that got an interview will hear back soon.
Good Luck! Hang in there! 🙂

thanks to the daylight savings..WE GET TO WAIT ONE LESS HOUR!!!

but i get one less hour to study..GOD i hate being an in SMP

six days to go!!!!!!

btw, if ur waitlisted, is it possible to find out what tier or where u r(is it ranked?) or r they super secretive about that kinda stuff...

yeah gooooo rams!!

are there any other virginia teams in yet?

While technically there are no other Va teams in, UVa and VT are essentially gauranteed an at large bid.

The waitlist is ranked but they will not tell you where you stand unless you are at the very very top or at the very very bottom. So you think waiting for March 15th is bad...

VT upset some really good teams this year (UNC, DUKE, etc.) so if they go to the big dance, you'll have to keep an eye on them. UVA hasn't impressed me this year but VCU hasn't really either(i think they lost of bucknell a couple of weeks ago)

all this waiting made me come to one conclusion: just as long as I am not flat out rejected, I will not be that disappointed. i know it will suck to get on the waitlist but at least there is some sort of hope.

if i don't get in this year, i'm thinking about joining a competitive male rhythmic gymnastics circuit, anyone else want in? i don't want to keep all the glory and money to myself

All of this waiting makes me feel like I'm in second grade again. I'm sitting on the edge of my seat with my hand raised as high as it can go and waving it in the air. All the while, I'm screaming in my head, PICK ME!, PICK ME!, OOHH, OOHH, PICK ME!!!

Good luck to everyone.:luck:

I like your attitude. I can help coach....

i think i recall some people still doing that in college... but i agree-- second grade was the last time i really wanted to be noticed and picked (for dodgeball teams). if i get picked last, i SO do not care this time around...

g-luck everyone!:luck::luck:

haha, yeah i think even getting picked off the waiting list is good enough for me. what's everyone doing to keep their minds off these decisions?

i've been watching some episodes of the soprano's. great show.

There may have been a lot of OOS acceptances so far, but OOS students are probably more inclined to withdraw than IS

I cannot wait until Heroes starts again...that show is ALMOST as good as Entourage

117 hours to go until 3/15 7:00pm!!!

Ha, wow, I thought I was bad with the mental countdown...

And for some reason I found myself pulling up my responses to the secondary questions earlier today. Why? I don't know. I interviewed over two months ago. I haven't looked at them in a long time, and now I can't help but question myself on the style of one of my essays, because it's a little odd. Oh well, someone liked it enough to interview me.

Oddly, I never expected the VCU decision to matter so much to me. If I'd held an acceptance at the time, I might have cancelled, but Im SO glad I didn't. I love the school, and am praying to any God that will listen that I get in on Thursday.

Anyone else crossing their fingers that more people will withdrawl from the school before Thursday? Come on, OOS people with multiple acceptances, increase the chances for all of us....

Well, enough of my rambling. Good Luck everyone. :luck:

4 days!!!

ps. did someone actually hear they would send out updates at 7 pm or is that just a guess?

its usually 6pm, but that's the time they want it posted by, not sure if theyll get it all in by then

VCU will play Duke in the first round of the ncaa tournament. good luck to them!

i can't wait for thursday. is anyone reapplying from last year and know how long the waitlist is? like how many ppl do they have on it?

so can we assume that if we dont get in thursday we will just go on the waitlist?

The message on thursday will read either acceptance, wait list, or rejection. They inform all three in the same day (at least from last year's experience) so you probably won't be left guessing.
They are, unfortunately, stickler's about your position on the waitlist. They absolutely will not tell you. If you arrange a meeting with one of the admissions counselors, they may give you your chances for getting off of the waitlist based on your ranking but they will not give you a number--except sometimes after the school year for which you are applying has started.

Good luck everyone.

I've decided its easier to assume you'll be waitlisted..then on the 15th your expectations are likely to be met, if you're lucky they're exceeded.

if you want to arrange a meeting with one of the counselors, how soon can you do this, assuming we get waitlist news on thursday?

And the countdown continues...

Im both excited and terrified.
