is the wait for VCU a whole lot longer than other med schools? we've been waiting for a few months already. why do they torture us like thisssssssssss.
 
No it sure isnt feeling good, although I am not expecting to be outright accepted....we will see, hopefully soon

Who is POSITIVE that the waitlist was formed today? 20 bucks says the accepted individuals were notified and they have yet to decide who will make it to the wait list. Watch out for a notice on the main page saying "we've yet to determine.... expect to be notified next week."

Wouldnt suprise me, given their recent past.
 
this cant be it.... TWO people on SDN get in when they are offering 80 spots? thats doesnt make sense, id guess ATLEAST 5. wouldnt you?

McSnubbs, I couldn't agree more. I've been thinking the same thing for a few days, actually. I interviewed in September, and I'm currently in Peru. Since I'm out of the country, I'm beginning to question if VCU still exists!

P.S. Their notice will be timestamped "6:30" or something expost facto-esque.

Dont assume anything. Back in Dec. and Jan. there were just a few that spoke up about their acceptances.
 
Any of you who were doing this kind of thing 2 months ago will remember being on edge for 2 hours until VCU said it'd be a couple days before they'd let us know who was in.

Twice in a row? Who would have guessed. *slowly extends middle finger*
 
omg, can you say anti-climax? Thank you med school admissions process for another fun afternoon. I have to go to work now, :luck: to all of you waiting - can't wait to come back and check this thread!
 
seriously, what the hell. Maybe they caught March Madness Fever and forgot about us... 🙁
 
oh, and i was also guessing a large amount of us would get accepted

Spider is right. VCU plays Duke at 7:10p. This is a big game for them. We won't hear anything for at least two more hours.

On a side note, what a shlacking Vandy laid on GWU!
 
So i'm guessing they sent out the acceptances tonight and will do the rest tomorrow? that sucks...for the first 2 rounds didnt they do it all at the same time?? I just want to know already!
 
Nevermind... I'll just put some popcorn in the microwave and watch my autoreloader reload my status page.
 
so....who made brackets...and chose VCU to win everything b/c of today.....i did, and they're losing 🙁
 
This is seriously screwed up. It makes no sense for them to accept a few people, and not tell the rest of us what is going on.

The website does say that they anticipate "making offers" today. Does waitlist or rejection fall under offer category? hmm..

Congrats to all who got in, or will be getting in today 🙂.
 
note: website says that the waitlist will be constructed in "mid March" and not March 15.

I just don't understand why it is so hard for them to type all of the acceptances, rejections, and waitlist notifications into the system and then have it automatically update the website at 6. Then everyone would know and everyone would be happy. They would probably be spared a lot of nasty phone calls the next day.
 
i'm guessing this hasn't happened the last few times, or even last year?

is it safe to assume all of those who haven't heard are either waitlisted or rejected?
 
I don't know what to assume anymore. I'm fearing the worst at this point...I figured they'd have the wait list put together by today, as well as acceptances and rejections. People were accepted nearly 2.5 hours ago...doesn't bode well for the rest of us, I'd say.
 
NO!!!!!! I wanted this acceptance soooooo much! I can't believe I don't have an update...😱 👎

WOW you're right, what a game! I gotta root for VCU no matter what since I do live in Richmond, but I am so excited they won! YAY! They totally wore those fools from Duke down.

defenitely calling. its rude to keep kids in waiting for 5 MONTHS (like me) and then not update : /
 
I remain hopeful that there are more acceptances coming. Not hearing anything at all has been absolutely awful. I think I might have appreciated an outright rejection more than nothing at all.

just called, the committee has not produced the waitlist yet, because they still have to decide whether they will trim it down or extend it. those who have been on hold since the january release are not necessarily guaranteed to be on the waitlist, and they could still be rejected. All acceptances for this batch have been handed out. so everybody waiting for a status update will hear sometime nextweek whether you've been added to the waitlist or rejected.

i never thought they did this, i've been on hold since early january. i thought that meant the only news i would hear is that i would either be kept on hold or be accepted....guess not 🙁
 
hey, thanks for calling and letting us all know. yesterday was super depressing, but now i'm just hoping i'm high enough on their waitlist.
