What do you mean your doing the applications by hand?
This waiting process is stressfull. I have been completed 22 supplementals so far and haven't heard anything from anyone. Except GW where I was placed in the eternal holding pool. I have been complete at most places for around a month now. I would feel so much better if I had one interview.
The Early Decision acceptances just went out. This means that reviews of other applicants have just gotten underway. It's still early and not to have an interview at this point means NOTHING.
You can make yourself crazy by attempting to compare yourself to what you read on this website or what others tell you. Some people LOVE to feed into your insecurities. You can allow this to get to you or you can do something else (like work on your Plan B) and take the process as it comes.
No matter how much you worry, you are either going to get in or not. The amount of worrying does not change this. The amount of angst does not change this. The process is out of your hands and there is nothing that you can do about it.
Why not, take a vacation?
Why not, volunteer at a homeless shelter and really help others?
Why not, teach someone to read?
Why not, start a solid fitness plan?
Why not, ramp up your study skills now?
Why not, organize your house for efficiency?
Why not, work on your Plan B (that is what you will do if you do not get into medical school)?
Why not do anything except sit and make yourself anxious over something that you cannot change at this point? This is a waste of energy that makes you feel worse and does nothing to further your career.
The middle of September is still VERY, VERY early. I have a stack of medical school applications on my desk to review and I will not be touching them unitil after I give an exam that is coming up. Your's could be in my stack if you applied to this medical school. At any rate, do something productive.
