do your status pages say that they got your committee letter? mine was sent out way back in june, and it says they don't have it. this is also true for me w/ temple and tufts, but many other schools DO have it, so it defnitely went out.

3 weeks for me, and i sent my amcas in a few days after it came out, and was verified a few days later.....actually more like 2 weeks to 2 and a half.

Better than a rejection!
Yeah - last cycle lots of people got that message and were interviewed, and a bunch never were. So basically - it means what it says it means.

i hope they are just waiting for when they give me the same note you got for them to also update the LoR.....anyone else? if someone else's does say they have LoRs in, then i guess i'll have to ask my committee to send them again.

I used interfolio for them, they seem to be really for that...ask your committee to send ur letter to interfolio now and just re-send it to vermont. Might as well be safe, right?

Yeah thats what confuses the hell out of me....but I sent my letter via interfolio the second that secondary came out and I was done within 30 min....so who knows...quick turnaround? Im sure there will be masses of messages this week, but why none today 😕

Anybody who got the "you are in the interview pool but this doesn't mean you'll get an interview" status, have you gotten an interview? How long did it take from the time you got the vague message to getting an interview?

I got that same message too but it has been at least 2 weeks now and nothing has changed...no interview invite yet...starting to get worried. 🙁

When I went there for interview. I was told by students, they like ppl who apply early. So if you have average stats, it might be harder to get an interview now...So when ppl say "it's an advantage to apply early". This is what they mean.

That message is the generic message. It means basically nothing. It means you dont get an automatic rejection and now they will look more closely at your file and compare it to others. It isnt neccessarily good, it isnt bad. It means nada except you got past first superficial screening. BUT every single person to get an interview does go through that status first, as do many who get rejected...

I got that message via e-mail last year when I inquired about my status. Sorry to say, Dr. VanNostran but it's not very substantial. It's just another vague statement lobbed around by school.

But, I do hope you hear something positive from them.

I got my LORs in 8/28, complete 8/31 and got the vague message 9/26. Oh well, I guess I should be happy I'm not rejected yet.

I know I was complete though because I talked to the admissions secretary (my job is in association with UVM so I'm often up there at the hospital). Also, I'm instate and an associated employee and have gotten interviews at all of the 7 other schools I was complete at before 8/30 except for UVM--it's the only one I haven't heard from that I finished in August. Any ideas about what's going on? Do people's status pages say "complete"--mine doesn't. I emailed them last week and they just said that the status page should change within 4 weeks and that they are really sorry about the delay. What the heck?

Yeah, I'm a little annoyed. I am focusing on my other interviews and the travel they are requiring but UVM is my state school and I fricken live down the street from them. It's really bugging me that somehow UCSF is able to invite me all the way to California but UVM can't even drop me a note to say I'm complete.... What should I do? I feel like my file isn't even being processed correctly there, although maybe they are processing instaters through a different committee and that committee is moving more slowly....? It doesn't seem fair that people completed weeks after me are getting some sort of change in status, even if it is just to say they are on hold🙁

If you got 7 other interviews, I wouldn't be crying in your breakfast cereal. Thats awesome. How did you swing that? Have you ever thought that you are such a good candidate that they are holding out on you because you are too good?
I am a big advocate of just calling and calling, being polite, and trying to find the root of the problem. It could be a technical error or something silly. I really don't think that track how many times you call them (if I am wrong someone let me know so I don't make a fool of myself). I have found that by calling schools, eventually I find the answer. I submitted my application to Tulane in mid July and am still not complete. I found out (after about 8 calls) that they were still processing LORs from early August- that little tidbit was told to me this week.
So stick too it. Keep hounding them. And tell me how you got 7 interviews.

Unfortunately, money is quite a consideration of mine, and UVM is my only instate and I thought I would hear the earliest from them (not an unreasonable assumption right?) so have just been confused about what's going on.
It could be a technical error, but I'm going to wait another couple weeks before I email them again until they are out of their "8 week limit" on initial processing. Unfortunately, that means I won't be in the early applicant pool anymore but I guess that's how the cookie crumbles---or maybe the breakfast cereal🙂 Just like I don't know why I haven't heard from UVM I have no solid idea exactly why I received other interview invites from my other schools--haven't heard from any of my september completes yet though---

Im with you there on the in-state tuition advantages however I would be willing to pay the OOS $40k a year to go to UVM (or almost anywhere for that matter). I am having in-state issues as well (NC not VT) and am getting the run around there. Being classified as a NC resident and getting accepted to the 2 state schools whos tuition is less than $11k would be sweet.

Yo good news! I got changed to the "you're within the pool of interviews" status this morning(friday). While it is vague, I guess it means my application has passed through whatever bog it was mired in in primary review and might go to committee soon.

Yeah I used it and got a response with a day. I guess it depends on your question.

searching trends from last year.

1) Decisions are made via snail mail! damm perhaps additional 3 days of waiting...that is if it doesnt snow.
2) Out of State applicants and international students are rarely accepted directly, they are waitlisted then accepted. Why? Apparently, they wait to see how many in-state applicants decide to accept their offers.

Anyways, best of luck
