I didn't get that vibe from it. It seemed like a "we will likely accept you if you say you will come here" letter. I never sent a LOI to them before (doesn't sit well with me personally knowing I didn't get a decision based on my application itself) so I guess they wanted to see if I was still interested.
so anyone get a finaid package yet? also, anyone decide whether they're coming here for sure? pros/cons?

Hearing back mid-month? I am surprised we won't know anything before May 15...it would certainly be nice to know before then.
Potato...I got the financial aid award yesterday. When did you submit your forms?
I've got a few questions of my own that I posted over in the allopathic section...

Hi all, I'm seriously considering AECOM but still am a little foggy on housing. Rendar mentioned that when you get put in a 1 or 2br apartment someone usually get's stuck in the living room. I know one can get really good dividers and stuff but how much privacy does that offer???
Also can any current Einstein students give approximate dimensions and costs of the housing for each type, 1br 2br studio etc and how hard it is to get each one for first years?
Thanks!!

hmm....just curious, what constitutes a good finaid package?
something affordable lol
sure why not?
Does anyone know what are the chances of getting in if you're on the favorable wait list?
I don't know how Einstein works this year. It seems like people who interviewed before Jan 15, either got accepted, rejected, or waitlisted. The early waitlisters--at least from what I've collected--were only put on one general waitlist. There was no indication of a high priority/favorable waistlist. However, a few (by word of mouth) late waitlisters (people who interviewed later in the season) said they got a favorable waitlist? I'm not too sure what to believe and/or think anymore. Einstein's waitlist is so nebulous to me.
However, after calling admissions I got some info: (1) waitlist is not ranked (whatever this means, it has to be ranked someone, probably internally), and (2) waitlist movement should happen around June. Again, the admissions staffs were very vague in the email. Can anyone confirm whether or not there're 2 waitlists? If so, when do early waitlisters know which one they are on?

I called up admissions and they told me that if you received the review favorably email, it means that you're on the high priority waitlist.
Although I don't know what the high priority waitlist really means, it really doesn't make sense to have two separate waitlist. If the school has decided to take the people on the high priority list first, most likely there would be enough people on the list to fill the spots if not more. If that's the case then waht's the point of keeping a normal waitlist?
On the other hand, I've read in previous years that people have gotten off of the normal waitlist.
Decisions, I don't think you should worry yet as no news is good news. it could be that they're still deciding whether to put you on the high priority waitlist or offer you an acceptance!

(2) waitlist movement should happen around June.
That sounds about right from what a first year student told me, but geez Louis, another 3 weeks of waiting? come on, einstein...
Cool thanks for letting me know Boundtofail. Did you get the favorably reviewed email as well?

yea.. so I'm hoping for some quick movement on the waitlist!
any thoughts on the need for two separate waitlist?
any thoughts on the need for two separate waitlist?
I would guess that it just helps those on the waitlist better understand their chances while ensuring the school will be able to fill its class in September. Other schools do it too. However, here they seem to be sending mixed messages as to whether there is more than one waitlist. Also, I find it odd that they never sent me an email saying I was waitlisted. Why wouldn't they have done that?
the favorabliy reviewed email is the wait list email. I think they just want to mess w/ our mind by giving us a glimmer of hope and then cruelly take it away while laughing in our face =)
Just to recap, there are 2 distinct waitlists - highly favorable and normal. If you get the email, you are highly favorable. If you get a snail mail, you are on the normal waitlist. In the past, they have pulled people off from the normal waitlist in June.
when i received my snail mail WL notification, I called and asked if there are two distinct wait lists and the secretary said there is only one.
interesting. so the highly favored is not a WL but only a list.when i received my snail mail WL notification, I called and asked if there are two distinct wait lists and the secretary said there is only one.
Told you Einstein works in mysterious ways. Maybe they get it from the real Einstein, haha. jk

if any of you interviewed late, have you heard any sort of decision yet?
how late are we talking about?
I interviewed march 10th I think or the 15th, can't remember well but I have not heard anything yet. I called the office and some lady told me I might hear within one week or two. Best of luck to you guys!
G'
to you too. I interviewed mar 13 and all i got was the waitlist a while ago.how late are we talking about?
i'm talking about end of april (yeah, LATE). but, from the above posts, it looks like i won't hear anything until june at earliest.
good luck everyone!
I interviewed march 6th and i still have not heard back. however, on mar 15th i got an email saying if I was still interested (because of another acceptance) because they considered my application very favorably... whatever that means.
good luck all

I interviewed on April 24th and just got accepted today via email. I dunno if it helps, but I also got one of those "highly favored" or whatever emails about a week ago.
Hope everyone who hasn't heard back yet get some good news soon!
congrats, not2smarto. are you definitely matriculating?
Thanks dynezxice. This is my first acceptance so I'm definitely thrilled. I'm from Cali and I'm on the waitlist on 3 UC's, so I can't say for sure that I'm matriculating at AECOM. I'm just really relieved right now 😀.

1st acceptances are always phenomenal, as I remember my first one was; definitely a great feeling. Cheers. 👍

This is truly a nebulous process. Man early interviewers (Sept-Dec.) who were waitlisted are left in the blues...Don't think Einstein did the favorable list until much later and it seems that only late interviewers have been put on it.
<Maybe this will cheer me up.

sounds good. here's to waiting.

I was also accepted yesterday by email.
Interviewed mid-Feb.
Received the favorably reviewed email a few weeks ago.
I am waiting to hear back from other schools to determine whether I will attend or not. Will post my decision here later.
Best of luck to everyone!

after i received the favorably reviewed email last week, i got really paranoid and started digging around last year's threads for more info. there wasn't much but i found this thread the most useful:
http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=499411&highlight=AECOM+highly+favorable+waitlist
it seems that they do go through the favorably reviewed before starting waitlist movement. the vibe i keep getting though is that your chances improve if you tell them that you're really really interested.
i've been keeping up with this thread pretty closely since i interviewed and i'm rooting for you dynezxice, sushi, and everyone else who is still waiting. i hope good news comes to you guys soon!
