I called and they said that they were still sending them out. Its weird though, I was verified the 1st day. No Mt. Sinai either.

Fixed Cornell's link, added Mt Sinai, (does anyone have Mt Sinai's prompt?)

What else am I missing? Please PM prompts and links to me...

i see that people have gotten secondaries from vermont and NYMC, but I haven't yet, and my AMCAS was verified on 6/5. do they send secondaries to residents before OOS?

Mt Sinai is still not letting anybody login. Maybe tomorrow?

I got four today (Mt. Sinai, Cornell, NYMC, and UMD). I submitted Cornell and NYMC, but I can definitely start to feel the anxiety building up. So many things to keep track of, especially when schools won't update their pages saying they've received your secondary.

Vermont? I don't see Vermont posted anywhere.

i'm a maryland resident, was verified 6/9 and have gotten vermont's. but not NYMC. so, i don't know what to tell you 🙄
 
Hi my mcat is PS:12 BS:12 VR:8 Med-Mar applicant with 3.8 science and non science gpa (with good clinical/volunteer/research experience, undergrad deg in Biochem and Bio from University of Miami)
Harvard, U-Mich, and U-Penn have all sent me letters encouraging me to apply (as a minority my scores are relatively good) but I am skeptical that they just want money from secondaries etc. What do you think? Are they really interested??? Please let me know, thanks🙂

So, for the secondaries that have multiple short essay questions, do I need to treat each short essay as a stand-alone piece for the purpose of defining acronyms? If I mention My Undergrad Institution (MUI) in the first question and want to discuss it in the third question, can I just put MUI? I'm trying to maximize the amount of info I can fit into character-limited essays.
 
For the Maryland secondary, what exactly is meant by independent research? Does that mean not research under an advisor at an undergrad college?
 
just got UCF's secondary invite...not part of their initial trial run group

I am a Maryland resident and got the NYMC secondary today as well as secondaries from Cornell, UPitt, Maryland, and VCU. However I did not receive anything from Mt Sinai. I think that it is a crap shoot.

Start writing the essays so they're well and good by the time you get the invite (which you know you'll get). Or try to get around the system somehow (aka Penn). But don't just sit there, do something.
 
For OOS-ers, is it absolutely necessary that we put something if the secondary asks if we have strong ties to that state? I have no idea what to put for these questions... Thanks guys.

Only apply to those schools if you actually want to go there and think you have a shot....those emails really mean squat....at best it means that you have passed some sort of minimal requirement screening on your MCAT or GPA....doesnt increase your chances or anything though....i've gotten similar emails from several schools and I am not applying to most of them just because I already have other schools on my list I would rather go to

U Mich gives "automatic-interview-invites" for good numbers and coming from a "good undergrad" (but I don't know which schools count and which don't).

I also have an interview invite there already, and so I have no time-pressure to finish their secondary ASAP.

If you have a lot of other secondaries to do, yes, you can put this one off until 2 weeks before the interview.

If you have nothing else to do, you might as well just finish this one.

What day are you interviewing? I'm on Sept 5th 🙂 See you there, maybe?

I think that you will have to wait to receive the email because it has a unique password in it, but the login name is just your AMCAS ID.

This is from the email:
If you are not able to use the above link, please use your browser and go to http://www.nymc.edu , click on Admissions, click on School of Medicine, click on Admissions and choose Secondary Application Online.

Man, waiting for BU, VT, NYMED, etc is driving me CRAZY!!!!

I sure hope there is no advantage to those who get them earlier

I thought I was done with the LOR business. I received an email 2 days ago from virtualevals that they uploaded my packet but today AMCAS emailed me another one of those Letter Status Notifications that my letter hasn't been received. I emailed my pre-health people and they told me to contact AMCAS which I've done...I let you know if they give the standard "It takes a few days to update the system" reply.

Hey ya I thought I was all done with the LOR stuff too. My packet was uploaded 2 weeks ago so I thought it'd be done by now.
I just called AMCAS and they said that no one's letters have been marked as received yet, so their tentative date of July 8 didn't work as planned. The lady told me to check back in a couple days, but when the letters are uploaded, they will be marked as received immediately, and we will receive an email, as well.
 
Shemarty, have you heard from anyone else receiving UVmt or NYMC??

Maybe BU, forgot about the rest of us 🙂
