Don't infer anything. They're sending out decisions from like 10 different interview days (so about 100 people, maybe more). It takes time to send out all the emails.

This really is too tense. I have a midterm tomorrow and I can't study because I'm busy staring at my email inbox. This is the first time this whole cycle that I don't want any emails

I know what you mean. I have my iphone in my back pocket. Whenever it vibrates, my heart sinks for a couple of second.

Maybe I should just call in and find out...

I just called and the office said that a decision was not made on my app yet. I interviewed on 11/20 and Brian Zeglen specifically said that everyone who interviewed that day would have a decision on Dec. 2.

I was specifically told that I would have a decision on Nov. 18 after 2pm. I was accepted today.

They actually said that it's possible they wouldn't review your file on Mon....I was worried that would happen to me. That really sucks! I'm sorry!

Does anybody know just how important the autobiographical essay is? I have an interesting story (non-trad), and I really got a chance to talk about it more.

Also, I am OOS - and applied the last day at 7pm!. The OOS/IS ratio for interviewees is quite low, but is that ratio roughly the same for the pre-secondary decision - are you less likely to get one if you are oos?😀

Talk about anything interesting. Even if it is a story. I think the autobiography is important though (just as much as your personal statement)

I think you are less likely to get a secondary if you are OOS...so congrats on getting one!

I think it's super important. Both my interviewers said they felt they knew me before the interview because my autobiographical essay was very detailed and personal. Spill your guts!!!

LoL I gave a couple tours already, and when the topic of SDN came up and I revealed my username, a bunch of interviewees were like "whoa I know who you are!" It's funny, but it is also a tad creepy when they're lurkers.

I'm giving the lunch tour today! 😀

By the way, again, if you get an interview at UCSD, you should definitely do the free clinic tour because 1) our free clinic system is outstanding and 2) you get free dinner! I'm talkin' nice sit-down food, not Burger King.

well i dont really think we can ever be sure on anything. but i called on Dec. 2 and the director of admissions said they didn't get to my file and the next meeting was in two weeks (Mon. Dec. 15) and that the next decision notification day would be today. So as of 12/2/08 that was UCSD's schdule.
