14+ weeks post-int...still same old "your interview has been scheduled" message.

I could care less at this point anyway, but they by far have been the worst school to deal with especially post-int. There is no reason why I should still be waiting for any type of status change.

Damn. I think I might have asked u already but did you call them in? I did after I was waiting for 12+ weeks n they said to wait a couple more and then I got the final status change. That could've just happened on accident tho. I rmember talking about emailing the interviewer with you before too, i dont think that could hurt either.

sorry, i know this question may have been answered earlier in the thread, but do you guys know if drexel accepts supplemental/additional information about what you've been doing during the application process (e.g. volunteering, publications, grades, etc.)? if so, do you know which email address to send it to? i have found several, but none of them seem to be specific for sending extra info.

thanks!!!

anyone gonna be here next tuesday and staying at the student guest house? hopefully everything works out cuz there is about to be some ridiculous snow!

I'll be there on Wednesday 🙂 Pretty excited about the interview!

Congrats to those who got the final decision. I'm a bit confused about my status though. I also interviewed on 12/5, and for the past 3-4 weeks, at least, my status read: "Your file is currently under review by the admissions committee. No decision has yet been made regarding your admission status to Drexel of University". But a few days ago, it changed to: "Your file is currently under review by a member of the admissions committee and will be sent to committee shortly. No decision has yet been made regarding your admission status to Drexel University." Has anyone else on this forum seen this before? I don't understand how my application could have gone backwards in this process unless there was some sort of extreme backlog. But even that doesn't really make any sense.

Additionally, have any of the people who got final decision notifications from 12/5 also recieved a background check e-mail?

+1.t I am also perplexed by this notification. I interviewed there a few weeks ago and got the same status that "Your file is currently under review by a member of the admissions committee and will be sent to committee shortly. No decision has yet been made regarding your admission status to Drexel University." Dunno what to make of it!

Well, if you just interviewed a few weeks ago, it means that your application is getting reviewed by an admissions member and will be sent to committee (soon hopefully) to get voted on. What I am saying, though, is that I got that message about two weeks after my interview (12/5), then it changed to being at the committee level for about 3-4 weeks, and now it went BACK to the original "being reviewed by a committee member and will soon be sent to the committee." What does that mean?

Hey everyone. By my own negligence and some life stuff, I completed by secondaries by early December. My application was complete shortly after, and I have been waiting for an interview since. My only interview has been at Univ. of Iowa Carver. I have been following this thread every day for a couple weeks now, hesitant to post. Can anyone offer any hope? Anyone in a similar situation?

My app was complete on 11/5 (applied late) and I still have no status update -- still "No Decision made." Is this normal? It's been 3 months since I submitted my app, I have no interview, no waitlist, no rejection, nothing. Is interview season almost over for Drexel? I have a 31/3.5 and I'm a 28/nontrad applicant. I thought I'd have SOME chance at Drexel.

My status went backwards before too. I called in and asked n they said it's nothing to worry about. I just got the final status after waiting 12 weeks post interview

Interview season will continue for a few more months. You've still got time to get some good news.

I'm pretty sure I was complete on the same day, kind of similar stats as you. Still haven't heard anything either (status still says "No Decision made"), so you're not alone! From reading the other posts there are still lots of people that are waiting, and yeah, most schools do actually interview all the way through until April/May.
:xf:

Just got waitlisted. Does anybody have #'s on how many ppl get in from the waitlist or if there is any waitlist movement ? (oos here)

Just accepted.

Interviewed 12/1.
'Letter sent' status update noticed earlier this week.

Anyone have any tips on how to get to the interview location from New Jersey using mass transit (thinking train)? I have my interview on Tuesday, and I still have NO clue what my plan is to get there. I was thinking I might get a hotel room the night before, but I'm really tight on the money. Thanks for any help..

if you take the njtransit, you can get down to trenton and then transfer onto the SEPTA, which will take you into philly's penn station. however, drexel med is not in the city so you'll have to take a shuttle from philly into the suburbs (i'm actually not sure which bus/shuttle this would be). I would suggest calling the school to ask them about transportation options if you are arriving at philly's penn station.

congrats to those who have heard good news from drexel recently! I am still awaiting my letter, which I think will be coming tomorrow. it's been pretty long since my interview (late october)

Accepted. interviewed 12/3. status change a few days ago

I'm interviewing here on Wednesday the 10th, and was curious if anyone had any rush hour travel advice. I'm planning on staying with a friend who lives in Kennett Square (southwestern Philly suburbs) overnight, then driving to Drexel Wednesday morning. Mapquest suggested going via either 220 and 76 or Rt. 1. Given that I'll be driving through rush hour and/or some snow that morning, what would be the best route to take? Has anyone tried either of them? Thanks!

I'm from Philadelphia, I would suggest route 1. You will still hit traffic, but not nearly as bad as 76. Also, check mapquest for back routes. I could think a a ton off the top of my head that would allow you to avoid a lot of the traffic, but they are kind of hard to describe.

Also, anyone else interview 1/9 and cannot stop checking their email like me? I know it's only been a month so I shouldn't complain. I just really like Drexel's program and hope I get in.👍

Is there a wait list thread for this year yet?

I called in asking about the wait list, and was told that since its on rolling admissions, students can be accepted anytime until the first day of school. Has anybody been accepted here from the waitlist yet?

What they told you about the waitlist is true. In my class there were people accepted off the waitlist as late as mid-July.

You can take NJ Transit (Atlantic City Line) to 30th Street Station and then take the R8 regional rail line to the Queen Lane Station on the corner of campus.

If you're coming from Kennett Square, then I cannot stress enough the importance of leaving ridiculously early. You will have a very long commute in front of you. The whole world is going to be driving the same direction as you are, so give yourself HOURS to get there. Honestly, triple whatever Google Maps tells you in terms of time. One benefit of choosing I-76 over Rt. 1 is bypassing a ****load of traffic lights.

After having not checked the page for about a week, I noticed the "letter sent" status update today around 2. The boss was on vacation, so I raced home to check the mail. Nothing!

I will repeat the ritual tomorrow in the hope that my letter beats the impending thirteen inches of snow.

Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night stays these couriers from their appointed rounds.

Hey White Hat when did you interview?

Thanks for the travel advice. I may end up getting a hotel room for the night before if the Philly traffic really is that bad.

Given the impending snowpocalypse part II, I was able to postpone my interview to Thursday, but when I called the admissions office they said they were still planning on having the Wednesday interviews as scheduled. Just out of curiosity, is there anyone else who was scheduled for this Wednesday? Did they end up canceling those interviews?

It's not necessarily that the traffic is "that bad." The traffic is typical of a city this size, it's just that you've got quite a ways to go so that traffic is compounded.

has anyone seen status change from "interview scheduled..allow 6-8 wks" directly to "final decision has been reached" bypassing all other statuses?

December 5th, Criso. I was the besideparted guy with the thin brown tie.

Thanks White Hat..I actually interviewed 1/11 and am trying to see how far along they are with their decisions..I'm thinking another 6 weeks haha...Best of luck👍

This was basically my commute to Drexel, sans the ridiculous snow. I can't overemphasize the amount of ridiculously placed and numerous traffic lights along Route 1. If you are going to drive, you really just want to leave ridiculously early and take 76. I think I left about two and a half hours early and made it there about 15 minutes early and it's usually a 45 minute drive outside of rush hour.

My stats are 30/3.5, went to a top tier, complete October 1st.
Status - "no decisions is currently available"

I think no matter what your stats are though, you can't really "expect" anything from the medical school application process if you are submitting your secondaries past september. I feel lucky to have gotten even one interview this season because most people are complete secondaries by august, so the fact that people are surprised by not hearing back from schools after submitting in november and december surprises me... I'm pretty sure submitting your applications that late puts you in a pool of applications with a very slim shot, not that you won't get in, but it is significantly harder than if you had applied early.

Maybe if you have a 40+ and a 3.7+ GPA, you can apply late and expect to get in somewhere but even then I'm sure the chances are still slimer-- thats my take on it.

As for hope on this situation - I am just going by the motto "Hope for the best, prepare for the worst" I am getting ready to reapply in case I don't make it in this year so I suggest you guys start thinking about it just beacuse you don't want to repeat history, your apps were already late this year, at least this next cycle you can have all of your apps prepared by June and secondaries submitted by July if you are prepared for that now... sorry for bursting anyone's bubble but since I am in a similar situation and applied by october (apps were late b/c of family emergency situation) I want to be prepare so I'm not left in the dust again if I have to reapply.

I was scheduled for this Tuesday but got trapped in the airport and had my luggage lost. I called first thing Monday morning to reschedule and they told me they had no dates until March 10th 😱.

I never heard anything abut a Wednesday or Thursday spot, which is very frustrating as I would have happily taken one of those.

I'm currently scheduled for March but considering Drex is rolling I'll be interviewing for a spot at the very end of their application season. I'm not too excited about the prospect of another 3 days off work, which I really can't afford, and I'm already sitting on a very nice acceptance from a school I really loved. The vibe I got in phone conversations with Drex was similarly blase. The people I spoke too didn't seem very concerned about whether I came to my interview or not and it jut left me with a negative impression.

I'm probably going to withdraw my app today after thinking it over some more. Drex would really have to impress to rise on my list vs some other schools I've been to (rolling admissions, haha!) and I don't want to waste their time or mine, or take a spot from one of you people that really wants to go.

So I started a school-specific thread in the Medical Student forum that's for questions about the drexel program.

Finally reviewed. Complete in August. Got this:

"Thank you for your application. Your file has been reviewed and will be re-evaluated later in the season for a final decision."

= HOLD I am assuming. Anyone know if I have a chance still?! Sending them a LOR from my lab PI later this week.

Yes, it's a hold. It's not impossible to escape it, but you'll need to keep your fingers crossed. Sending another LOR is a reasonable next step. Consider including a letter of interest/intent as well.

Status changed to this as well yesterday. Complete early October. At least it's Some news.. 🙄
I'm on hold at SUNY Upstate and Albany as well...just fyi : )

Hey all, I just interviewed here yesterday. To be honest, I wasn't very impressed. It just seemed very "blah" to me. I was just wondering if anyone else had a similar experience, or if I should cut them some slack because the disorganization was probably due to all of this blizzard business.

I felt the same way and interviewed back in October, so...
I mean, I just didn't seem to click with the school like many other people did. But then again, not every school is for everyone, you know?

I also agree that the admissions office was a little disorganized. But I'm not sure why that necessarily means it's a bad school 😕

I also interviewed here yesterday and got the same impression. Everybody was super nice, but there was something off about the presentation.

Yeah...me too. Drexel was my first interview back in September and something just felt off to me. I really wanted to like it though cause it was my first. Then I went to my second interview the next day and I just liked it a lot more. Since then I decided that if Drexel was the only school to accept me I'd go there but probably not otherwise. I just didn't click well with the school or location. Luckily I was waitlisted ( I should probably withdraw sometime soon...been too busy), and accepted to other schools that I like a lot more. I hope the Drexel dream works out for you guys that loved the school. I honestly thought I would like Drexel and Philly but neither clicked with me...and it wasn't even snowing!

good luck to all those waiting! Drexel was my first interview and the last school out of four that I found out my status from due to the ridiculous snail mail policy.
